Hello All,
I would like to share a few upgrades ( mostly functional ) I have done to date. Have decided not to spend any more money on upgrades in the near future. Below is a thread with a summary of all the changes my Honda City V CVT has seen. Hope it helps.
Results/ Observations :
If one were to ask what is the most effective mod for sound insulation, it is in the below order of decreasing effectiveness with Tyres being most effective.
Tyres>Under Hood damping>Under body coating > Door damping>wheel arch damping > Weather seal additions.
Total damage to wallet - All upgrades included
1. Damping - 12K
2. Tyres - 13K after old tyre exchange.
3. Lights - Low,High,Fog,Cabin - 11K
4. Auto IRVM - 1k
5. Dash Cam (front and rear)- 10K
6. Under Body coat - 3k
7. Speakers - 8k
8. 3D Kagu mats - 8k
9. Carplay wireless -7k
10. Misc -5k
Total: 80k approximately! ( this almost makes it equal to +1 i.e VX trim)
1. Door Damping ,speakers and Lighting upgrades (Link)
2. Few more sound insulations which I couldn't get done earlier.
a. Wheel arch and footwell area - To reduce the random stone hit sounds.
b. Underbody coating at Honda SS during my 3rd service.
c. Weather seal additions - Z-type, P-type, D type across doors. This essentially reduces wind noise.
3. Auto-dimming IRVM - Honda original via Boodmo ( thanks to brilliant DIY inspirations from the forum ). This was an easy and very functional accessory for V variant owners. It uses a fuse tap with a very meagre 2W power consumption.
4. Wireless car play - Thanks to my friend who bought it from US.
