More images: Next-gen Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior

New images revealing the plush interior of the next generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class have surfaced online. The official premier of the car is scheduled on September 2, 2020.

We already know that the new S-Class will get a massive 12.8-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment head-unit in the centre. The latest images reveal more of the luxury sedan's cabin, including the rear seats.

This time, Mercedes-Benz has taken a minimalist approach when designing the car's interior. The dashboard fascia is covered in glossy trim and a thin strip of LED ambient lighting wraps around the front cockpit. A floating display replaces the conventional digital instrument cluster.

The car has thick bolstered front seats wrapped in quilted leather. It gets heated cushions for the rear headrests. Even the area above the heated armrests on the door pads is heated. The S-Class could be offered in both 4 and 5-seat configurations. Buyers will get an option to choose between a "business centre console" or a folding armrest at the back.

Other features include additional acoustic foam for better noise insulation, "Hey Mercedes" assistant with 27 languages, support for hand gestures, two head units including one for augmented reality, rear-seat airbags for frontal impact amongst others.
