Ola Electric says 99.1% of customer complaints resolved

Earlier this month, the CCPA had issued a show cause notice to Ola Electric over rising complaints about their electric scooters.

Ola Electric, in its response to the notice issued by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), has said that it has resolved 99.1% of the 10,644 customer complaints received so far.

In a regulatory filing, the company said, “We wish to reiterate that Ola Electric has a robust mechanism to address complaints raised with respect to our vehicles. In fact, we wish to emphasise that out of 10,644 complaints that we received from the CCPA, 99.1% of the complaints were resolved to the complete satisfaction of the customer as per Ola Electric’s robust redressal mechanism.”

Earlier this month, the CCPA issued a show cause notice to Ola Electric under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, over rising complaints about their electric scooters. Besides service issues, customers had also alleged manufacturing defects and unprofessional behaviour.

The consumer protection authority highlighted that the National Consumer Helpline had received 10,644 complaints against the company between September 1, 2023, and August 30, 2024. Of these, 3,389 relate to service delays, 1,899 are for delivery delays and 1,459 complaints allege unfulfilled promised services.
