The EV5 has a rear seat that can be folded flat and transformed into a bed.

Kia showcased a range of electric SUVs at the inaugural 'Kia EV Day' event. The line-up included the production-spec EV5.

The Kia EV5 is based on the E-GMP platform, with styling inspired by the larger EV9. The car has a futuristic design with boxy proportions. The rear-hinged doors seen on the concept have been replaced with conventional ones.

The EV5 has a rear seat that can be folded flat and transformed into a bed. The electric SUV also gets a 4.1-litre refrigerator, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control display.

The Kia EV5 will be available in three variants: standard, long-range and long-range AWD. The base trim uses a 215 BHP electric motor powered by a 64 kWh battery. It has a claimed range of 530 km (CLTC cycle).

The long-range variant uses the same motor but gets a larger battery pack. The 88 kWh battery is said to deliver a range of 720 km. The AWD variant has a dual motor setup paired with an 88 kWh battery. It can cover 650 km on a single charge.
