Suzuki's first electric scooter for India to debut in 2025

Suzuki is already testing the electric version of the Burgman Street in India.

Earlier this month, Honda announced that it would launch its first electric scooter in India by March next year. Suzuki has now revealed its EV plans for the Indian market.

According to the company, its first electric 2-wheeler for India will be the equivalent of a "small to midsize motorcycle" and will be introduced by FY2025.

While the statement mentions "motorcycle", Suzuki has been testing a Burgman-based e-scooter in India for a while now. Besides, an electric scooter would be a logical choice considering rival Honda is working on the Activa electric. 

Suzuki has also announced that it plans to launch up to 8 electric 2-wheelers by FY2030. By this time, the company expects 25% of its offerings in India to be EVs.
