Tata Motors starts accepting bookings for Zest compact sedan

Tata Motors has started accepting bookings for the Zest, its upcoming compact sedan.

Booking can be done at dealerships or online by paying a sum of Rs. 21,000 through credit or debit cards. This amount is refundable upon cancellation. At present, customers can only choose between petrol and diesel versions of the car. Additional information about the various trim levels and the final price will be given only during the launch of the car.

Additionally, the company is running a campaign in which, it is offering displaying the car are certain shopping malls in various cities and even offering test drives to potential customers.

The Zest will be available with a choice of two engines:

• 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, Revotron petrol, 90 PS, 140 Nm, 5-speed manual gearbox
• 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, diesel, 90 PS, 200 Nm, 5-speed manual / AMT

The Zest will be pitted against other sub-4 metre offerings in the market such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
