Toyota badged Maruti YTB crossover to replace Urban Cruiser

Toyota’s version of the Baleno Cross / YTB is said to be codenamed A15 and is likely to go on sale by the end of this year.

Toyota plans to launch two new products this year. Both cars will be based on existing Maruti Suzuki models.

The first one, expected to debut around mid-2023, is the Ertiga-based MPV. Internally, Toyota’s version of the Ertiga is said to be known as 'D23' and will receive minor cosmetic changes. It will be based on the familiar Heartect platform and will be powered by the K15C engine. It is likely to be offered in petrol and CNG variants.

We know that Maruti Suzuki is working on an SUV Coupe based on the Baleno. Reports suggest that Toyota is also planning to add one to its portfolio. It is likely to replace the Urban Cruiser, a re-badged Vitara Brezza, which was de-listed from the brand's website in November 2022.

Toyota’s version of the Baleno Cross / YTB is said to be codenamed A15 and is likely to go on sale by the end of this year. It will also be based on the Heartect platform and will come with the same powertrain options as the YTB.
