Triumph Thruxton R cafe racer launched at Rs 10.90 lakh

Triumph India has launched the Thruxton R cafe racer at prices starting from Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Thruxton R was originally showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The 2016 Thruxton R is Triumph's third bike from the 2016 Bonneville range in India, after the Street Twin and the Bonneville T120.

The Thruxton R design is an amalgamation of retro style and modern components. These include a round headlamp, gold-coloured front suspension forks, wire spoke wheels, chiseled fuel tank, short tail piece, plain angled exhaust pipe, and bar-end rear view mirrors impart a cafe racer look to the new Triumph bike.

The Thruxton R gets ride-by-wire feature which enables it to have three riding modes - road, rain and sports and also traction control. Other safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Brembo disc brakes.

Powering the Thruxton R is a 1,200 cc, 8-valve, parallel twin engine. Triumph has provided this engine with a lighter crank and a new airbox which helps the bike to develop 95 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 112 Nm @ 4,950 rpm.

The Thruxton R comes with Showa upside-down forks at the front, while the rear suspension setup includes Ohlins twin-shock set. Owners can also opt the Thruxon R with three inspiration kits - track racer, café racer, and an entire factory performance race kit.

The 2016 Triumph Thruxton R will soon be available at all Triumph dealers across India.
