Validity of vehicle documents extended till March 31, 2021

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the government has decided to extend the validity of vehicle documents.

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has extended the validity of motor vehicle documents like driving licences, registration certificates (RC), permits and fitness certificates till March 31, 2021.

Vehicle documents that have expired on February 1, 2020 will be valid till March 31, 2021. An advisory regarding the same has been issued by the ministry to all the states and union territories.

According to the ministry, the decision has been taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Earlier, the government had extended the validity of vehicle documents till December 31, 2020.
