TVS recently released the first teaser video of the upcoming Apache RR 310. The bike will be officially launched on December 6, 2017 but here are some of the latest undisguised images that have surfaced online.
The new Apache RR 310 was spotted at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT). While the bike featured in the teaser video was finished in bright red, the spy images suggest that a matte black colour option will also be available. It features a bi-LED headlamp setup with a gloss black racing stripe on the front cowl. Details like the upside-down front forks, 5-spoke alloys, petal type disc brakes, mesh protector for the radiator, side-mounted exhaust, clip-on handle bars and front license plate mounting bracket are clearly visible in the images.
The Apache RR 310 and the BMW G 310R share the same internals. The 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is also borrowed from the latter. The engine produces 33.5 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm but it might be tweaked to suit the Apache RR 310. The bike will come with a 6-speed transmission. It has been reported that the RR 310 will get ABS as standard.

The video confirms that it will be called RR 310 and not RR 310S as previously thought. It gets twin projector lamps with LED DRLs up front and a windscreen and twin LED tail lights. It looks like the bike gets split seats and the rear under seat fairing has a “35 years of TVS Racing” decal. The model designation has been placed on the side fairing. The video also gives a glimpse of the “Race Spec” bolted steel frame which is also painted in red.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is based on the BMW G 310 R and uses the same 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the BMW which produces 33.5 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm. Last week, we reported about leaked brochure scans of the upcoming TVS Apache RR 310S. Now, according to a media report, TVS will likely launch the bike on December 6, 2017.
The Apache RR 310S, formerly known as the Akula 310 has been in development for quite some time. It is the first model to spawn out of the TVS-BMW Motorrad partnership and shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310R. Unlike the G 310R, which is a naked street bike, the Apache RR 310S is a fully-faired sports tourer.
It will be powered by the same 313 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the BMW. While TVS hasn’t disclosed the final specifications, the same engine produces 33.5 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm on the BMW. That said, TVS might tune the engine differently to suit the Apache RR 310S. The 6-speed transmission is likely to be carried over from the BMW. Besides this, the spy images have indicated that the RR 310S will be offered disc brakes at both ends and ABS.
While reports of the possible launch have surfaced the internet, there has been no official word from TVS yet. In the Indian market, the TVS Apache RR 310S will compete against the likes of KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Benelli 302R.

The production model based on the TVS Akula concept has recently been spotted without any camouflage during one of its dyno test runs. The bike maker had showcased the Akula concept at the 2016 Auto Expo in February last year, while the production model, which will likely be called the Apache RTR 300, is expected to be launched in July 2017. It was previously spotted in a blue shade, revealing the front and rear end design.
The latest set of spy shots reveals some new details about TVS' upcoming flagship motorcycle. The front disc brake appears to get an ABS ring, thus confirming the presence of ABS on the bike. The up-side down forks at the front have been finished in a golden yellow shade. The twin headlamp setup is likely to get a full LED layout along with DRLs.
The TVS Apache RTR 300 is based on the same platform that underpins the BMW G 310 R. It was built under the TVS-BMW Motorrad alliance. The two bikes also share their powertrain setup, which is a 313cc, single cylinder liquid cooled engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, the power and torque outputs on the Apache RTR 300 are expected to be tweaked to suit the bike's characteristics.

The upcoming TVS Apache RTR 310 has been spotted in India without any camouflage. Previous reports have suggested that the bike will likely be launched in the country in the month of July 2017.
The Apache RTR 310 is basically the production-version of the Akula concept that was showcased at last year's auto expo. TVS hasn't revealed the final production name of the bike yet, but it is expected to be sold under the Apache line-up. Once launched, this new motorcycle will become TVS' flagship product.
The spy shots indicate that the production-spec model won't come with the concept's carbon fibre finish on the bodywork. While the overall design is similar to that of the Akula concept, TVS designers have slightly toned down the styling to make the bike production-friendly. Visible design cues include dual headlamps, a large windscreen, a vertically oriented digital instrument cluster and clip-on handlebars. The bike gets upside down forks at the front and a monoshock suspension setup at the rear.
The Apache RTR 310 has been developed under the company's alliance with BMW Motorrad. It is thus the second product to come out of this Indo-German partnership, after the BMW G 310 R, which is yet to be launched in India. The Apache RTR shares its platform with the G 310 R and it will draw power from a 313cc, single cylinder liquid cooled engine. The power and torque outputs are expected to be manipulated to suit the bike's characteristics. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed transmission.
