According to a media report, Bajaj could bring back the Sunny. But this time, instead of a 60cc engine, it will use an electric powertrain.
The latest spy images suggest that the Sunny Electric is already in its prototype stage. The test mule looks identical to the original, but look closer and you will notice a hub-mounted motor in the rear. The report states that it could be based on the Yulu platform.
The Sunny EV prototype has the same compact and simple bodywork with a round headlamp and a rectangular tail lamp unit. It is equipped with a trailing-arm front suspension, steel wheels and drum brakes. Note that the battery pack is located on the floorboard where the spare tyre used to sit.
Looking at the spy image, it seems the Sunny EV project is in an early stage of development. It has the potential to be an affordable and convenient city runabout. It would be interesting to see if Bajaj puts it into production.

Bajaj Auto is set to take over Triumph India's sales and marketing operations.
The British motorcycle brand currently operates 15 dealerships in India. These will be merged with Bajaj Auto's extensive retail network of over 6,000 dealers and sub-dealers. However, all existing Triumph dealerships will remain exclusive to the brand. It will also be the fifth separate dealer network under Bajaj, after KTM, Chetak Electric and the brand's 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler businesses.

KTM CEO Stefan Pierer has announced that the company is working on a new 650-690cc platform. He also confirmed that the new parallel-twin engine will be manufactured in India at Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant.

It is said that the first bike to be based on the new architecture would be a naked offering. It could be launched in the Indian market by 2026. It is likely to be followed by fully-faired RC and Adventure models.
Pierer revealed that KTM would make use of the existing 790cc architecture to develop the new 650 or 690cc engine. KTM currently builds the 790cc range in China, which can easily be scaled down. Pierer also stated that the made-in-India 650-690cc models will be exported to Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Australia.
