Maruti Suzuki XL6 MPV brochure leaked

The brochure of the upcoming Maruti XL6 MPV has leaked online. The car is scheduled to be launched on August 21, 2019.

According to the brochure, the XL6 measures 4,445 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width, 1,700 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,740 mm. It is longer, wider and taller than the regular Ertiga but has an identical wheelbase. It has a luggage capacity of 209 litres.

The XL6 is likely to be offered in two variants - Zeta and Alpha. Besides the second row captain seats, the car is expected to get features such as LED headlamps with daytime running lights, LED fog lamps, roof rails, cruise control, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Alpha variant could get leather seats, electrically foldable ORVMs, black alloy wheels, automatic headlamps with follow-me-home function among others.

The Maruti XL6 is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. As per the brochure, the engine produces 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. Transmission options might include a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.

The Maruti XL6 is expected to come with six colour options - Blue, Khaki, Red, Grey, Silver and White.

Ertiga-based Maruti XL6 MPV bookings open

Maruti Suzuki is now accepting bookings for the Ertiga-based XL6 MPV. The booking amount has been set at Rs. 11,000. The XL6 will be available in two variants with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.

The Maruti XL6 features a revised exterior with a trapezoidal grille with a chrome bar in the centre, new wraparound LED headlamps and a redesigned front bumper with a silver skid plate. At the rear, the MPV gets L-shaped tail lights. It also gets black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and along the door sills.

On the inside, the XL6 is expected to get black interiors with faux wood trim and silver inserts on the dashboard. The dashboard houses a touchscreen infotainment system. It will be offered with separate captain seats in the second row.

According to a media report, the Ertiga-based Maruti XL6 MPV is likely to be offered in Alpha and Zeta trims. The car is expected to be sold through Nexa dealerships.

Rumour: Toyota Vellfire launch in October 2019

According to a media report, the Toyota Vellfire MPV could be launched in October 2019. It is likely to be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

Earlier this month, the Vellfire was showcased in India at a private event. It features a split headlamp setup with integrated LED daytime running lights, a large chrome grille and triangular fog lamp pods. 

On the inside, the MPV is likely to be offered in a 6-seat configuration with ventilated and heated seats with memory and reclining function. It has power side and rear doors, twin moonroof, automatic climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system among other features. 

In India, the Vellfire could be offered with a 2.5-litre, petrol hybrid paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and E-Four 4WD system. 

The Toyota Vellfire is expected to compete with the Mercedes-Benz V Class in the Indian market.

The Vellfire has split headlamps with LED daytime running lights integrated into the lower lights. It has a chrome grille with a thick chrome bar and a large air dam with triangular fog lamp pods on either side. The MPV also has ORVMs with integrated turn signals.

The car has black interiors with faux wood inserts on the dashboard. It has what appears to be a silver trim around the centre console, which houses a screen and the air-conditioning module. It also gets a leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel with wooden inserts and a twin-pod instrument cluster. It comes with features such as ventilated and heated seats with memory and reclining function, leather upholstery, power side and rear doors, twin moonroof, sunshades, ambient lighting, individual seat tables, automatic climate control and personal spot lights among others.

In India, the Vellfire is likely to be offered with a 2.5-litre, petrol hybrid. It could be mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and E-Four 4WD system.
