Isuzu V-Cross & MU-X get 9-inch touchscreen ICE update

The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Isuzu is said to have updated the touchscreen infotainment system in its V-Cross and MU-X models from a 7-inch unit to a 9-inch display.

The new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the V-Cross and MU-X offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The SUVs also get features like automatic climate control, cruise control and a power-adjustable driver seat.

No mechanical changes have been made to the SUVs apart from the ICE upgrade. Both cars are powered by a 1.9-litre diesel engine that produces 161 BHP and 360 Nm. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available on both models with the V-Cross getting a 6-speed manual option.

Isuzu V-Cross prices hiked by up to Rs. 2.09 lakh

Isuzu has increased the prices of all models except the MU-X 4x4, which gets a price cut of Rs. 1.51 lakh.

Isuzu has increased the prices of its D-Max pickup truck and MU-X SUV effective January 2022.

The prices of the D-Max V-Cross Z 4x2 AT have been increased by Rs. 2.09 lakh, followed by the Hi-Lander, which now costs Rs. 2.07 lakh more. Prices of the V-Cross ZZ Prestige 4x4 AT and V-Cross Z 4x4 MT have also been increased by Rs. 1.10 lakh and Rs. 1.09 lakh, respectively.

Isuzu also offers the MU-X SUV in India. Its prices have also been revised at the beginning of the new year. While the 4x2 variant now costs Rs. 14,727 more, the price of the 4x4 variant has been slashed by Rs. 1.51 lakh.

2021 Isuzu MU-X launched at Rs. 33.23 lakh

The MU-X competes with SUVs like the Ford Endeavour & Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market.

Isuzu has launched the 2021 MU-X in India. The SUV is available in 4x2 and 4x4 variants priced at Rs. 33.23 lakh and Rs. 35.19 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

The MU-X features Isuzu's so-called tiger-inspired front fascia with a chrome grille. The grille is flanked by LED projector headlamps that have integrated LED daytime running lights.

On the inside, the SUV comes with 7-seats that are wrapped in leather upholstery. All seats get adjustable headrests with one-touch split / fold seats in both the second and third row.

The MU-X is powered by the same 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine as the D-Max V-Cross. This engine puts out 161 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 360 Nm @ 2,000-2,500 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 4x4 variant is equipped with a 'shift-on-fly' 4x4 select dial.

The MU-X competes with SUVs like the Ford Endeavour & Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market.

Isuzu V-Cross, Hi-Lander, MU-X launch on May 10, 2021

The launch will be live-streamed on Isuzu India's YouTube channel.

Isuzu will be launching the BS6 version of the D-Max V-Cross pick-up, the Hi-Lander pick-up and the MU-X SUV in India on May 10, 2021. The launch will be live-streamed on Isuzu India's YouTube channel.

According to a leaked document, the V-Cross will be offered in two trims - Z and Z Prestige, with 2WD and 4WD configurations respectively. The Hi-Lander will be a base variant of the pick-up.

The V-Cross will be powered by a 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 161 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 360 Nm @ 2,000-2,500 rpm. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The four-wheel-drive version will get a shift-on-the-fly system with a high torque mode.

The MU-X is likely to get the same engine as the V-Cross.

It is unclear when Isuzu plans to launch the MU-X in India, but the vehicle has been mentioned on the brand's website.

A test mule of the Isuzu MU-X has been spotted in Bangalore. It is believed to be the BS6 version of the SUV.

Isuzu unveiled the next-generation of the MU-X in October 2020. However, the car seen testing in Bangalore is the old one which was already on sale before the BS6 emission norms came in. Isuzu may be using the bodyshell to test the new engine. It is unclear when Isuzu plans to launch the MU-X in India, but the vehicle has been mentioned on the brand's website.

In Thailand, the next-generation Isuzu MU-X is offered with a 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 148 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 350 Nm @ 1,800-2,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The SUV also comes with a 3.0-litre diesel unit that puts out 187 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm @ 1,600-2,600 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and comes with all-wheel drive.

Next-gen Isuzu MU-X launched in Thailand

Isuzu has launched the next generation MU-X in Thailand.

The new MU-X is longer, wider and taller than the outgoing model. It measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, 1,875 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,855 mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 235 mm.

The new MU-X gets a redesigned front fascia with chrome slats and slim headlamp clusters. It has a new front bumper with fog lamp pods positioned at the ends, flared wheel arches, and an updated rear fascia with new tail lights while the bumper gets integrated reflectors.

The interior of the MU-X is finished in a dual-tone theme. It features a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a 4.2-inch MID. Some notable features include dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way adjustable driver's seat, Terrain Command Shift-on-fly, Automatic High Beam, adaptive cruise control, 6 airbags and ADAS system.

Next-gen Isuzu MU-X patent images leaked

Patent images of the next-generation Isuzu MU-X have surfaced online.

According to the patent images, the MU-X has been given a completely new front fascia with chrome slats and slim headlamp clusters. The front bumper has been redesigned with fog lamp pods positioned at the ends. The MU-X has flared wheel arches, slim, wraparound tail lamp clusters and a rear bumper with integrated reflectors.

The Isuzu MU-X shares its ladder frame chassis with the D-Max pickup truck. In India, the current-generation model is powered by a 3.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 174 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque @ 1,800-2,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system.

At the moment, Isuzu has halted sales of the MU-X as the SUV is yet to receive a BS6-compliant engine.

Isuzu offering 8 year / 2 lakh km warranty on MU-X

Isuzu is now offering a 3 year / 50,000 km extended warranty on the powertrain for the MU-X (BS4). This is in addition to the 5-year comprehensive warranty and 5-year free periodic maintenance for 1,50,00 km. The extended warranty comes at no additional cost.

The 5 year / 1,50,000 km warranty and free periodic maintenance was launched as part of the 5ecure package in 2018. The latter includes PMS parts, lubricants and labour costs. It does not cover wear & tear and accidental damage related repairs. The package is also transferrable.

The 3 year / 50,000 km extended warranty will be available on the MU-X (BS4) till December 31, 2019.

Isuzu MU-X facelift launched at Rs. 26.27 lakh

Isuzu has launched the MU-X facelift in India. The SUV is available in two variants - 4X2 and 4X4 priced at Rs. 26,26,842 and Rs. 28,22,959 (ex-showroom, Hyderabad) respectively.

The new MU-X comes with updated styling. At the front, it gets a chrome grille which is flanked by revised headlamps featuring LED auto-levelling projector headlights with integrated LED DRLs. It also gets a new dual-tone front bumper with chrome inserts and circular fog lamps. At the rear, it comes with a new bumper and tail lights. The SUV rides on a set of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

On the inside, the MU-X gets a black dashboard with silver inserts around the centre console. It comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel with a twin-dial instrument cluster. Other features include 6-way power adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, power foldable ORVMs with turn signals, cruise control and a shark fin antenna.

The new MU-X is powered the same 3.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine as its predecessor. It produces 174 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque @ 1,800-2,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system. 

Standard safety features offered include ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, 6 airbags, ESC, traction control, hill start assist, hill decent control and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.

The MU-X competes with the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market.

Isuzu MU-X facelift caught testing in India

A test mule of the Isuzu MU-X facelift has been spotted in India for the first time, which indicates that the carmaker could be planning to launch the updated model sometime in the future.

The spy images suggest that the MU-X facelift is likely to get an updated front end with a twin-slat grille, a set of new headlights with projectors and integrated U-shaped LED DRLs. The ORVMs appear to have chrome housings with integrated turn signals. At the rear, the MU-X facelift comes with new tail lamp clusters. The test car can also be seen sporting new multi-spoke alloy wheels. 

The interior of the SUV is expected to be based on the MU-X facelift that is currently on sale in Southeast Asian markets. It is expected to get new upholstery, a refreshed dual-tone dashboard and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The MU-X facelift will be mechanically identical to the current model, which is powered by a 3.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. It makes 174 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 380 Nm @ 1,800-2,800 rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and a low range gearbox.
