Something new - 3M has opened their branch here in Chennai. Most members should already be aware of 3M's exclusive store in other cities

They are located on Kodambakkam High Road, about 5mins drive after passing by Hotel Palmgrove on the right if you come from Nungambakkam High Road.

Seemed like a neat and clean place, sadly my phone was low on battery so could only click one pic. They some 3M and Meguiars stuff on display.I also a piece of the material for the 3M mats thats become so popular on display as well.

They said their staff was trained in 3M Bangalore. I guess they work late as well since I saw them polishing a Civic at 10pm at night on Sunday.

Some of the rates from what I could remember on their rate card

Foam Wash - 380 (Only on weekdays)
A/C Vent cleaning -750 (approx)
Paint protection for new cars - Wax sealant from what I could gather - around 2k
Some complete package including sanding down scratches - 4.2k
Front sunfilm crystaline series 7k++

Went there yesterday and had a brief chat with with the manager Mr Dushy. The manager was very enthusiatic to explain the services.

Service ranges from simple foam wash to car detailing including interior and exterior detailing. Prices look competitive and a tad cheaper than Privilege Car Spa but at par with Shri Balaji Agencies (distributor of 3M products for Chennai).

1. Interior and Exterior Detailing - single & long term packages
2. Under-body coating/ Rust treatment
3. Paint Protection
4. Sun filming
5. Car care products from 3M and Meguiar's

Spend very little time there as i had to rush to office, so no pictures taken.

Directions:
1. Gemini Flyover towards Park Hotel
2. Take the left towards Valluvarkottam
3. Cross Hotel Palmgrove on the left and proceed for about 300m.
4. You will find the shop on your right (IIRC, its the second right after Hotel Palmgrove).

Availed the following services today

1. Foam wash (Rs. 345) - exterior wash with 3M foam including underbody and engine bay. Yes; it includes Engine bay and Underbody.
They also did remove plant saps and tars marks from alloys.

(you may add another Rs. 550 for a machine wax which is called 'Power Shine')

2. Interior Clean Premium (Rs. 1795) - Interior cleaning using 3M foam on dashboard, seats, door trims, roof lining, door pads, mats, windsheild and glasses.

They have a basic interior clean at Rs. 1195 which includes all of the above mentioned in (2) but they use 3M shampoo instead of foam. Thats the only difference.

Workmanship : Excellent (5 star). I would compare them at par with Privelege Carz Spa

They attend to cars only on appointment. They have 4 seperate bays for detailing and 1 bay for underbody cleaning.

Seems like a lovely place to dress up your lady. I have been to their authorised dealer off G.N.Chetty road to fix my sunfilm about 5 years back. That experience was nothing to talk about except for a small discount and not a great job done.

BTW, even i could not resist this one.

One thing I was wondering over there though was that the water pressure seemed quite high. Not sure if whether during the engine wash it would get into electricals.

I had declined engine wash anyway and they obliged by just using the blower inside.

No pressure wash was used in the engine bay. The bay was cleaned using a sprayer. See picture under post no. 5

Thanks bottle for spotting this place & bnzjon for review and photos.

Does the AC vent cleaning includes filter cleaning as well? Anybody tried it and/or the engine treatments? How do you find the performance (of AC and/or the engine)?

^From the video they showed it looked like they spray foam into A/C Vents and then use compressed air to remove the foam and dust

Wow, this seems to be a nice place. I will definetly try this out. I hope they maintain the quality and fade away in thier services after a period of time.

I've planned to take my swift for paint sealant protection treatment and for getting the 3m sun film done. Would visit this weekend after the first service

I got sunfilms for my XUV here, got the CS20 series. I got the films without opening up the door panel, as I had bad experience with my i10 where rattling started after the sun-films were installed by the dealer in 2008. I was very particular about this and spoke to Dushy about it before even going there. Even though it took them extra couple of hours to fix them, they charged the usual rate.

They did an excellent job. About the rate, I did not enquire elsewhere

Mee too worried about the issues (if any) after the door panels are opened for sunfilming. The Toyota dealer already warned, they will not be responsible if the door panels are opened for any reasons. Now in dilemma to go with 3M or with the dealer for doing the sunfilming. However the dealer charges 75% more for the same film and same labour.
