well how soon
in india soon is tooo relative and price yeah people have been hoping for 2 lakhs but what are we going to get!!!!

You are right. "Soon" is too subjective a term when it comes to launch of vehicle in India.

Earlier it was thought a CKD route will be taken for the Ninja. But from what I learn from the R1-5 thread, that a CBU route is also contemplated. That is certainly not good news as the price will get close to the 3L mark and will put off many prospective buyers.

Well, from what I learn the launch date is not confirmed. Speculation is rife that the launch would be close to Diwali.

If they launch the FI version (EU), you can expect it to cross the 3 mark. If they launch the carb (US), you can expect it to be much more affordable (HOPEFULLY!).

Its expected in July-August time frame.

It will be the European FI model & they are working on bringing the price down, the one in AutoExpo this year already sported Indian made parts

What exactly do you mean by Indian made parts?

I meant indigenously made parts mostly parts like indicators, RVMs, Disk Brake etc.

That can only happen if the guys here get permission from Kawasaki to do that, correct? Especially things like the brakes that would obviously look exactly like the ones you have abroad.

Latest update (as of yesterday) was that its expected more in the August-September time frame.

@Straight6: Yes BAL has tied up with Kawasaki & the bike was displayed in BAL's camp if I remember correctly. They are busy getting the price down by lowering the component level costs & that can only be done if locally made parts are used.

well its come to a desperation level to most.
going by BAL's ealrier launches even the baby should be coming somewhere around diwali..
also not to forget localisation will take sometime and wont happen overnight...
just hope it happens sooner

Been waiting for it since the 2nd auto expo, 10 years down the line and I am still waiting for it. I just hope they launch it before I get too old and need assistance to sit on one :(
