How can God be so generous to some & so tight-fisted to some, Pls do yourself & your stomach a favour by visiting it, in my opinion it is one of the finest restaurents in the whole coast, try chicken ghee roast (only if you go as a team, one guy just cant finish it, it is a cardinal sin to not finish it, it's a whole chicken you see), Kane naked fry (you just pray for the dead fishs' soul to rest), Anjal masala fry (ask for extra masala in the fish, once the meat is over just finger lick the leftover masala with your drink), Prawns masala fry(again ask for extra masalas & better order sanas/idlis/neer dosas along with it) & the list goes on & on, his visiting card is in my car, if you can call me (8088226466) before you visit I can put a word, not that you need a reference to get good food at his place, Oh my god, now that I remember I have not gone there in almost 3 months, Kundapur here I come..,

they have a premium A/C section, a bar section & a basic meals section, forget the ambience, decor, atmosphere, service, the food is great, for any true blue food lover that's what matters, I feel the food is primary everything else is just secondary.

Chicken ghee roast takes an hour to prepare so the best thing is to call up when u are about to start and by the time u reach there its just about ready.

And be warned sat and sunday nights are jam packed and its very difficult to find a place.

Shetty lunch home Kundapura phone no:08254230408

No, dont call up,better land up there order it, since it takes an hour (by ordering it in advance u are missing the trees for the woods), meanwhile order other things like Kane Naked fry or Anjal etc, enjoy it like starters, before the main dish is served, remember it's Nityanand Shetty the owner or Annappa the cashier, Bon Appetit

@Sushrutha - Woodside has ceased to exist. You can see a huge mall in that place now

Fishland and its sister concern Food Palace continue to thrive.

You are welcome Lohith!

GirishPV and I with a few of our friends had been on a trip to Goa last week and stopped at Shetty's lunch home for dinner. Overall it was a great experience - both for chicken and fish lovers. Veggies were also not left out.

But culinary discovery of the trip was Quality bar and restaurant about 2-3 kms after Honnavar Bridge towards Kumta. All items that we ordered - Soup, Raja special, Mixed Veg Pakoda, Egg Pakoda, Shark Chilly, Mussels Sukka - were yummy. Mugambo khush hua

There used to be a Hotel called Big Boss in Manipal. Near MIT on the Parkala road. I used to love the food there.
Old timers of Manipal might know this place.
