Jispa is good place for camping and river offroading. Standing in between river felt so good with nature beauty.

The place you went to the river side is Darcha - about 67 kms beyond Jispa. Effectively this is where climb for Baralacha la starts. Your enjoyment is coming through in the pictures and with Gypsy's under you there wild side come out.

Day-7 Sarchu to Leh

Route: Sarchu, Pang, Upshi, Rumstse, Karu and Leh
Fuel stops: Jerry can stop.
Night Stay: Hotel Caravan centre, Leh
Milestone crossed: Gata Loop, Nakeela pass, Lachulungla Pass and Taglangla Pass.

Spending last night at Sarchu was great achievement, Vijay can highlight more into it. It was freezing morning had light breakfast. Vijay's Gypsy could not start in morning and with lack of oxygen it was not possible to push start it decided to start with towing with my vehicle and it started with 1 km of towing.
First encounter Gaata Loop its like hair pin bends but our eyes where on offroading trail we by-pass all the hair pin bends and reached top(nakeela pass) more report and photos in 4x4 Excursion.
Reached Pang after crossing lachulungla pass, while having brunch got bad news taglangala pass is blocked from night. While taking rest in dahaba just glanced at map there is route before taglangala pass which goes through Tso Kar(lake) and then Mahe from there Karu and then leh but we cannot venture into this roads without permit, went to army check post to check weather permit can be issued here. The hospitality what we got here I will never forgot in my life even in 5-star hotels you will not get it, Salute to army guys. Spoke to officer but he told he has no authority to issue permit only DC can issue it, my main concern was phone havn't spoken to my family for 27 hrs but officer told come at 4 pm you can call from army camp felt good and return to dahaba where had good chat with all bullet gang members spent around 4 hours suddenly heard shouting voice and check out vehicles are coming and the pass is opened but it was already late around 3pm only major hurdle to cross was taglangla pass which was about 78 Km we decided that we will move on rather staying here in pang, bullet gang stayed here they did not want to take risk in night fair decision.
In no time we left dahaba and thanked army guys at check post they gave green signal by saying “Gypsy hai sirjee tension nai lena rasta banao ka jao”.
Next then we encounter was Moore Plain I named it UNLIMITED EXPRESSWAY LANE, here you can choose your route cruised in 80 Km speed, with loose sand need to be careful one mistake tyres can get stuck.
By evening we conquered Taglangla Pass, from here once got down is flat and good road reached Leh by 8.30 pm. There is toll tax from central excise department paid 70 rs. Still cannot figure why excise department is taking toll.

One of the best ways to transfer fuel without spillage is to cut a water bottle in to half and then use the drinking mouth as funnel. How were you guys managing it?

For people in 4x4's driving from Nakee La to Lanchunlung La one of the most interesting short cut is to take a left along the stream at the bottom and then climb straight towards Lachuglung La. (see the pictures below) Pure adernalin fun. In summers even Sumos/Qualis use this to come down from Lachunglung La on their way back to Manali. There is even more hair raising shortcut on the other side of Tanglang la. To be done only if you are fully confident about yourself and your vehicle

Although your picture (one before the cyclist) suggests that you were indeed headed for the short cut.

A great pity that you had to rush through More Plains. I love this place and the best fun is drive to a remote corner of the plains away from the road/path. Then you realise the immensity of the plains even more. Also in a 4x4 climbing the side hills is great fun.
