Default Ford Fiesta Tyre change Query

Hi, i am currently running good year eagle G2s on my fiesta 1.6, i have found that these tyres appart from being extremely problematic with frequent bubbling are also wearing out and due for a change. The oe tyre size was 175/65/14, my current tyres are 185/60/14. However i am looking to upgrade my tyres to 195/60/14. I would like to know weather this size would be O.k. Also can anyone suggest which tyres to go in for. My priorities are mostly traction and reliability.

I do not know about the size but I buy Michelins when I can. They just have it all, quality, design etc.

Anarchy, PM Iraghava or Kpzen for more advice - also, how many Kms have you covered so far? My Fiesta 1.6 has done almost 50k & I'm still on the original MRFs. Lousy tyres though from the comfort point of view & I'm planning to get Michelins shortly

Hi Anarchy

U can either get 185/60-14 or 195/60-14.

Apollo Accelere - Good VFM tyres. Nice ride quality and decent grip.

Michelin Energy XM1 - Very comfortable and minimum road noise tyre with decent performance.. Expect around 35-40k kms from them.. Ishan ran them for 50k kms...

Michelin Pilot Precedas - Terrific performance tyre with good ride comfort. Again don't expect 50k kms from them...

Yokohama ES100 - Again performance tyre at a good price....Not too great in terms of ride quality.

Bridgestone Turanza ER60- Bullet proof tyres. Can take a lot of beating gleefully. Perfect for bad roads.

I think for your requirements either Michelin Energy XM1 or Apollo Accelere in 185/60-14 would serve u well.

Approx prices of 195/60-14
Apollo - Rs 3000
XM1 - Rs 3400
ES100 - Rs 3200
Michelin PP - Rs 4200
Turanza ER60 - Rs 3500.

The price of 185/60-14 would be around 200 less than 195/60-14...
Hope i have cleared all your queries..

195/60-14 will give u a speedo error of 1.1% which is within limits. It may also drop the FE by 1kmpl which will depend on the driving style.

Regards

KP/Anarchy - Check before hand that 196/50 fits in the wheels arches of the Fiesta or not. The Ikon couldn't accomodate them so I would do a test fit before fitting them on unless somebody's already running them without problems.

Anarchy - KP's given you all the relevant suggestions, I would go with what he says.

so i have narrowed my choices down to brigestone G3s, michelin pp2, and yokohama es100. Which of these would offer the best grip whilst not being prone to bubbling like my previous eagle F1s. And i cannot find master Q on this website, can somebody please send me a link or something

Anarchy/Suman - I confirmed with Maser & there is no problem in fitting 195/60 on your car(s). Please go ahead with it without any worries.

And between the above choices I would go for either the PP2's or the ES100's. They shouldn't develop the bulging sidewall problem easily.
