Yup, that's true Jaggu. But since this is just one leaf, i had expected that it would be super strong. I never thought it would break. I am hoping that this red one on Shahnawaz's Spidey turns out better.

Everytime i used to follow you, in our past drives, i've seen you working on the steering whenever Spidey goes over an undulation on the road. I am guessing that you were correcting this wobble. I thought it was because of the SPOA setup.. stupid:

Makes sense. No suspension travel = Bad ride.

Trying to work out why harder springing will bring about early onset of shimmy. So far can't.

Can someone please share his experience with CFLs on a Scorpio? I am thinking of installing the CFL for my 2004 leaf sprung Scorp.
This would help me on my numerous drives on the Bangalore - Mangalore stretch via Shiradi ghat, which as of now can surely be termed as the ultimate off-roading experience.

Absolute stock suspension set up. No mods on that front. The rear ones are doing very well.

Hmm..so the other allegedly weaker components in the front suspension set up seem to be a lot stronger than the CFLs. Rossi, you may want to cut your losses and revert to the OE set for the front.

OE/Steel seems to be safer and reliable. Been watching this thread since long, fibreglass leafsprings doesn't looks like is made for offroading you guys do.

Fibreglass is for boats, not for Jeeps & Gypsies :D

Can you post pictures of how it has broken. I would like to see the failure point in detail. Not that it would help, but still.

For me, it's end of the road for the front CFL. I have another idea which I will implement and share soon for the front. That should hopefully solve the front leaf issue :)

Do I assume that everyone that has got the rear CFLs is completely happy with them? And are they the standard or the hard ones - I believe one has to choose.

This has shaken my confidence seriously in CFLs; even the rear ones. Earlier I was planning to go for these, but now I'll keep the stock leafs. The ride might not be very comfortable, but at least it will be reliable.
