So the basic box of the storage solution was made just before the camping trip. The milk crate is on an aluminium L 'patti' connected to 30" drawer slides and works well.

However, I'm now considering a design change. I'm going just for two 6" to 8" drawers for the base because this is eating up a lot of space on the top and then tents and chairs go way high up and I don't like reduced visibility in the IRVM. Plus the 18mm PVC ply is flexing as well.

Going back to the drawing board.

Weekends when I'm home mean I'm doing something with the car in the garage.

Whenever I travel, I'm always picking up the complimentary dental kit and shampoo / body wash from the hotels.

These come in great use for the car.

The toothpaste hotels usually give is the white Colgate dental cream which is best to clean glass and the shampoo is great to add in the windshield washer.

Been using the shampoo and/or body wash for years without any issue for the windshield washer.

Just take the paste and brush and scrub on the moist headlamp:

I was finding the handbrake a bit sticky and got the shoes sanded down and while at it even the rear brake pads changed - both sides.

Ashwin,

If the vehicle has been regularly serviced 1.5L kms is nothing to the 4M40 engine! These engines last for 600-700K kms and more quite easily. I'd say go for it!

After a year long gap, the vehicle is with me finally! Last year all it did was sit, and right now it is at 1.87lac kms. I know the vehicle was serviced regularly till 1lac kms, beyond that I am not sure, however it was maintained by our company so I feel its unlikely for it to miss a service. The year of neglect has gifted it with some problems, the car doesn't go above 3k rpms. If you try to rev past that point, the revs fall back to 2-2.5k rpm, I suspect the clutch is on its way out.

What else should I get checked?

Does it rev above 3k standing in neutral?

Did you get it serviced prior to using it after the year of neglect. RPM.cutting down could mean fuel starvation due to a clogged fuel filter or a fuel pump blockage. Get the fuel filter replaced and some diesel fuel additive to the fuel tank. Check for turbo inlet hose and the inter cooler hoses for any leakage. Loose rubber pipes could cause drop in boost pressure from turbo. Also notice if there is any smoke from the exhaust. Whether it is white or black in color when you rev the engine. White would mean excessive unburnt diesel and could point to a pump issue. Too much black smoke could mean blocked EGR valve.

Went camping again. A few pics from there below.

As per my above post, I wasn't happy with the last effort for the drawers.

This time I made them smaller in height and cut off the base for sliding in the table. This frees up more space on the top.

The material used again is PVC foam ply secured by special adhesive and self thread ing screws. A drawer channel runs full length.

The two drawers are uneven sized. One size is made exactly the width of my tyre pressure compressor which is put right at the back.

I worked 1 hour every day after work for a 10 days to get this thing ready.

The only thing missing is the front of the drawers. Because the camping trip was coming up, i just screwed in pieces of spare PVC.

Now I'll work on making the front plate and internal drawer compartments to segregate the camping and other stuff.

What I have ordered from amazon are lockable stainless steel paddle slam latches that are used in RVs and a uncle was kind enough to carry it down for me from the USA.

This will be fitted to the front fascia.

lol:

I get numerous emails, PMs and messages via Instagram and FB regarding my Pajero and its possible that I may have missed a few.

Additionally, I just checked my PM box here, the last message from you is in March 2017.

I am sure a question regarding the Pajero or any other vehicle / modifications-accessories is better discussed out in the open forum, a PM defeats the purpose of an open forum, unless its personal or wrt price which someone wouldn't want to disclose or phone numbers.
