I saw one of these babies outside Safeen Plaza. Looked fantastic.

Hmm, the guys from the MGE in Hyderabad would probably be able to give us more info on this, as I think this vehicle was there (incognito perhaps?). That thread hasn't been updated as yet. As of now, all we can guess is that the new 4x4 vehicle has a 5-letter name (but then, so does MM540).

Cheers,

Dear Mr Behram,
1.Please refer to your (strong worded) quote at #204.
2.I appreciate the nationalistic feelings. In fact, sometimes back even I had given similar views on one of the threads who dared to pick on the Mahindra.
3.Mahindra has been serving the nation for a very long time and has proved its capabilities over and over again.
4.I understand that all the members on the thread are aware that the new vehicle is on the offing. We went over a similar exercise (like wise to the thread) at our bases also. Few problems were also projected by our workshop representatives (which, I believe that you are fully aware of) and suitable replies threupon were received. One of which I remember is of the spare wheel mount and etc.
5.The supply of 550 has stalled for the time being. (Obvious answer??)
6.We eagerly wait for the new models displayed(and promised) to us earlier. It had the wish list which is being listed here.
7.The only sad part is the govt policy, which will go for the cheapest version and hence denuding the rudimentary requirement expected out of this 4x4. I hope the civil market gets something comparable to the foreign market.
8.My apologies for for not putting any wish on the list, for which this thread was actually meant. Sir, you are a wise man, you already are aware of the wishes.

"Disappointed"

Is the only word came to mind, had many hopes to get a decent offroader to go on this diwali vacation.

At last approached mahindra corporate www and local vadodara / baroda dealer for mhawk 4x4 manual scorpio and again "Disappointed"

I was not looking for an automatic 4x4 version I was in for manual 4x4, even dealer was not able to offer a test drive itself.

If this is the scenario for officially launched vehicle the potential expectations......??????????

Jeeper:

The Mahindra Scorpio 4x4 is sold in extremely few numbers. Hence it is understandable that there is no test drive vehicle on hand. I am quite happy that they are atleast offering the mhawk with 4WD so people have a choice in the 10 lakh range besides the Safari. If you have driven a 2WD *Mighty Muscular* mhawk then the 4x4 will be very similar to drive. Anyways, this thread is for Behram's baby and Scorpio 4x4 rants can be discussed in the Scorpio 4x4 thread.
