You can give him my reference - Rahul, the guy with a new white Gypsy.

Hope this helps!

I would also suggest Bro's Garage - Mr Nagaraj. He is a Gypsy racer and has won many.
He knows Gypsys inside out I can vouch for that because I ve been getting my work done there.

Beautiful locations, Anil. Good to see the Gypsy where it belongs

The soft top looks good. I guess you'd have had to completely do away with the OE frame, right?

Here is a pic of my Gyspy after its second service. Am yet to take time out of my busy schedule to be able to take the Gypsy to locales it deserves

Wow, cool. Do share a restoration thread if possible. Where did you pick it up from? Directly from an auction or some dealer in NCR? I am suffering from itchy fingers looking at all these new Gypsys coming up. Lol!

Nice pics and the Gypsy looks super cool in its elements! Is that the original color or did you get it repainted?

To be very honest, I just choose an auction Gypsy from Mayapuri/Delhi and told the guy to focus only and only on engine, mechanical and electrical. I am planning to keep completely stock.

As mayapuri was ascary place for me, I took the help of a friend and Gypsy expert, who took me straight to a old time mechanic who deals in Gypsy.

Hey RK,

Good to see you go down the Gypsy route. Reminds me of the white one that I used to have. Mayapuri -- you really need to know what you are looking for and the right shops.

The Gypsy looks spectacular and very clean. Any overheating issues -- which plagues a lot of the restored ones?

Get a good set of free wheeling hubs for the front. It will make life a lot easier in normal driving.

As of now, Mayapuri guy turned out to be real deal.

No overheating issue, I am not sure what will happen when I will get the AC installed into it.

FWH is in mind, heard it will make the steering wheel light as well, is that true?

No considerable difference. On the contrary you will have to ensure that they are locked / unlocked depending on the scenario. I would suggest leave the usual hubs as it is and have the comfort of shifting whenever required without wondering or getting out of the vehicle.

Just my opinion.

Cheers,
Raj

It is a marginal difference, as Desmo has mentioned, but I have found it very handy at low speeds and turning the vehicle around. Not as much once the speed picks up.

Depends on usage too, I guess. My Gypsy was used purely for touring and no OTRs. So locking/unlocking was easy. Till I reach the bad terrain in the high mountains they remain unlocked; once there, they stay locked till I get back down.
