I'm amazed that I need to be made to understand what a soft top Jeep is when I owned a MM540 close to 15 years ago... No problem! At age 41 and after owning a soft top Jeep for many years, I guess I know nothing and I thank all those who believe that I need to be made to understand what a soft top Jeep is.

Is asking for a lockable fuel lid such a big sin? Do me some justice, kind sirs- I need to be punished for asking for a simple lock on the fuel lid that opens with the same key as found on many two wheelers.

Sirs, I also happen to own a latest generation Honda CRV, a Magnum and a NHC. If I need advice on what car I should be looking at to buy, I would post in the What Car section and not here. Having said that, I thank all those who have been kind enough to think they know what vehicle I should be looking at to buy and for suggesting the same.

Guys..we need to be respectful towards opinions/inputs of other member in the forum. Nobody deserves to be ridiculed in such a manner. my 2 cents...

The fuel cap will be lockable with a common key. Now, can this debate on Lockable fuel cap be brought to an end?

Sir, this comes as a great relief to me as there are just too many vandals out there. Thank you very much for the good news!

This information also comes as an answer to my prayers for the Thar... God is great!!

Alright, here is a real info, not rumour.

Three white color Thars were found parked near Dahisar Check Naka in Mira Road in Mumbai. They were apparently going to Andheri RTO for registration. These are obviously Indian version and had MH-15 temp registration.

PS: The person who saw it was a Jeep enthusiast, who was obviously baffled by it and called his small town relative Sachin for explanation.

Cool. But does that really mean its not too far away from the showrooms?

Samurai, I seriously doubt if this is a true information. RTO registration is not possible as of now.

That is why I said apparently to the RTO. The fact is there were 3 white Thars with MH-15 temp plates on the road.

^^ - yeah spikey - I too doubt the same. Sharat, the manufacturer needs to give some document along with the invoice/pro forma to register the vehicle. I think that is the homologation document or alike, and if it can be registered, it means it is 'very' ready to hit the showrooms.

Ps - Going back to your previous input, what if these were the 550 with Mdi engines

wrt 550 MDi: Yet there is no formal announcement or any info from the M&M side or in this forum.
If some one knows more details regarding 4WD specs/price/launch date etc pls share
I guess there will be a new thread coming up in few days...

In few pics, the front tyres are touching the body totally and looks as if the body is resting on front tyres.

is it allright ???
