Thanks for the kind words. This is the first time I have ever ridden a road bike. That too not my size. It is of my nephew's, who has acquired it recently. Specswise, the AL 5 Disc is supposedly superior to AL 3 Disc. Performance wise, I think both should be almost equal.

After a long time got a chance to mingle with friends on a ride. Did a round trip (63km) to Khamboli Lake Bridge and back. Route taken was Ravet Basket Bridge - Chinchwad Dange Chowk - Bhumkar Chowk - Hinjewadi - Man - Megapolis - Godambewadi - Khamboli. Here are few pics.

Yesterday i.e. on 06-Mar-2022 the Pune Metro was inaugurated by the honorable Prime Minister & today we got a chance to hitch a ride in the metro with our bikes. It was an unforgettable experience.

Initially the security guards were not allowing us inside with our cycles. He then called the Dy. GM of Pune Metro. When he received the green signal from him, we were allowed inside with our bikes

. Looks like Pune Metro is the only Metro in India where cycles are allowed inside the train. Riders in other cities (NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad etc.), could you please confirm if bikes are allowed inside your respective city Metro Trains?. We were like celebrities. All the Metro staff were taking our pics and making videos

Is there a dedicated space to park bicycles inside the train? Any ticket for bicycle?

Hi Shipnil, currently there is no dedicated space or markers to park the bike inside the compartment. However when we boarded the metro in the first compartment, we were informed that the first compartment is reserved for ladies and were instructed to take our bikes to the last compartment. At least for now no separate ticket for the bike

On a side note we were told that the coaches are indigenously built, full aluminium body. The noise insulation is simply fantastic, cuts off the road and track noise very effectively.

Also as you can see in the second pic below, official response from Pune Metro Rail is "No, there is no separate compartment for bicycles."

Glad you were allowed!
I do not know if Hyderabad's Metro allows bicycle or not. I am not going to take my bicycle anyway as it is usually very crowded.
