Welcome to the world of flat Chennai. I'm guessing that 16m would be due to the flyovers inside the city only.

Edit: @mi10, my fastest century ride is on that route only. Nowhere close to your speeds of course.

If you look at the route map, it's almost parallel to the coastline (barring few kms from the start line). No wonder then he was riding almost at the sea level.

Ha ha Yes there are hardly few areas in Chennai that have natural elevation and the route here is the famed ECR connecting Pondy hence the lack of elevation.

But the issue here is the winds especially cross winds and sometimes get killed by brutal headwinds. Thankfully it will be one way only, as you get free turbo boost assist while on the return 😀

Elevation and Head winds both suck your soul out.

Did a quick dash to Kamshet climb over the weekend. My legs were itching to go at least till the Lonavala "0" milestone, but head prevented me from doing so as I am tapering off in the last 2 weeks for my first attempt at a full marathon over this weekend (01-May-2022). So this 60km ride was good enough to cross train my legs.

Man this photo thread has slowed down drastically. Can't wait for summer to finish. We have had one of the worst summers this year. Forget cycling, I even avoid going out on bike during the day.

Today morning with the group of fellow runners got a chance to visit the nearby Kasarsai dam and in the return ride did some swimming in the Pavana river. Distance covered 38kms at a leisurely pace.

True! The sweltering heat and humidity, along with a bit of laziness that kicked in from the beginning of the year have contributed to the non-contribution to this thread. Need to pick up speed soon

After a long break, went on a short ride to an abandoned quarry nearby now known as raptors abode and a newly restored lake kumizhi. Did some trail riding en route and had some serious fun.

Realised MTB’s are more fun than roadies and this makes me look at some awesome bikes to replace the rockrider.

Got back on the bike after a long time (more than a month!). Even though I started after 7pm, it was still so humid; managed only just around 30 km.

Went for a ride after a break. Delhi weather is terrible at the moment. Need to be back home by 7-730 am.

I think this would be my favorite 40 mile loop in this area. Rolling hills are a feature in this part of the world.
