Thanks! I use the share button from the app on iOS and select the photo that I want to download. It gives you the option to save image under "More". You must share the activity with your followers or everyone, otherwise the share option won't show up.

Its too premature for us to cheer over this, Pune metro route which is currently in operation is only being used for Joyrides. Once its starts to operate in full capacity, i doubt if they will allow cyclists during all times.

I sincerely hope that they allow cyclists during non-peak hours at the most minimum.

Few of my running group members, who recently got into cycling were persuading me to accompany them on a ride to Lonavala. Since they were new to cycling and haven't gone beyond 50 km on a ride, they wanted some experienced cyclist to guide them on their first century ride. I dare to call myself an expert cyclist but having done couple of century rides, I had some experience under my belt so that I could lead them on their first century ride. So today was the day fixed for this ride. We started around 04:15am from our respective homes and assembled at Mukai chowk, Kiwale (starting point of Pune-Mumbai expressway). No we didn't ride on the expressway as cyclists are not allowed but from there we headed to Dehuroad bypass and then to the old Pune-Mumbai highway. We continued through Talegaon, Vadgaon, Karla, Kamshet and reached Lonavala at 07:30am. We had a forced pitstop of 15 mins in between as one of the fellow cyclist's chain guard broke off. We had the typical photo session at the Lonavala "0" milestone, then went to the Khandala lake and finally to the point where the ghat descend starts (point from where you get the first glimpse of Duke's Nose). After taking some pictures and admiring the beauty of the ghat section we started our return ride. Took breakfast hault at Kamat, Khandala and returned home before noon.

The climate today was quite pleasant. Cool breeze in the morning, but with cloud cover in the morning Duke's Nose was invisible. Also then heavy tailwinds during our return ride helped us gain some good momentum. Sharing below few pics from the ride.

This weekend is supposed to get really hot. So hot that a heat advisory has been put up asking people to stay indoors or take frequent breaks. So I decided to get some miles in before the heat kicks in. I was not prepared for the rain though! When I left at 6AM, it was drizzling and so for the first 40 kms, I was drenched.
My first break at 40kms was at a coffee and donut shop. As I ate my jelly donut and sipped on a shot of espresso, I watched other customers come in and go. The cafe owners seem to know 4 out of 5 customers by name and what their usual orders are.
Anyway, my next stop was in another 35 kms, so I headed out. And immediately realized that my Wahoo was telling me to take a road that does not exist. Google Maps to the rescue! Figured out the detour was not that much. So, off I went. And this happened a couple of times more.
Next stop was at a convenience store being run by an Indian guy, which was a nice surprise! A hot sandwich and a bottle of water later, I was on my way home to cover the remaining 25kms to make it a 100km solo ride.

Your pics are quite stunning vb-san. They are really drool worthy, keep'em coming. Can't really make out whether its the picturesque Singapore locations or your wonderful bike or your sharp camera that make these pictures so astounding.

Thank you AutoIndian! Considering the limited space on offer to bike here, my rides are mostly at moderate speeds, with a few stops on photo opportunities on the way, then stop for a good coffee and ride back.

Did a nice ride to Heseraghatta lake towards North (beyond) Bangalore direction. While the lake hardly has any visible water to take photos, what is fantastic is the roundabout route around the lake premise that offers a nice long scenic route for riding.



On the way back, saw these kiddos lying on the side. Seemed famished so went to a nearby store and got a packet of milk. They lapped it up like they haven't had any food for ages - poor fellows.



Surprisingly the heat was quite high (wrt Bangalore weather terms) by the time the clock moved to 10 am. Weird given it rained heavily yesterday night and its raining cats and dogs as I write this post.

My weekend ride this morning was cut short by heavy rains. Weather forecast was of mild showers but 10 minutes into the ride, it started pouring down. Tried to go on for a while, but after around 5 Kms or so turned back as the downpour was getting stronger and stronger.

What prevents you from riding in the rain? I love riding (or running) in the rain - have done it multiple times. I absolutely love it; the cycle is a mess to clean post the rain but it feels heavenly to ride in the poorimg rain, despite any loss of visibility. I'm actually looking forward to do so once the monsoons start in full swing.
