Hello there

I am about to take delivery of a Vento, in a couple of days. The VIN indicates that it is sept 2012. Needed a confirmation. The VIN is

wvwj12607dt015572

Can you pl decode this for me?

If it indeed is Sept manufactured, isn't it "old-stock" ? I hear that Vento production had stopped sometime in Oct and now it is only inventory clearing and there hardly any November onwards manufactured cars.

Thanks in advance

Make : Volkswagen
Model : Vento
Production Date : 12.09.2012
Model Year : 2013

3 months old car are normal, specially if the product is not fast moving. Do a PDI and make sure that everything is normal.

Thanks Wildon. The dealer also mentioned that the car had been delivered to them on 18th Dec. Will check that as well during the PDI

Hi Wildon, could you decode this VIN for me - MALCU41ULCM101424? It is a Verna CRDI SX. I have booked the car, went to the stockyard today and looked at it. However, I would like to see the decode of the VIN to go ahead with the payment.

I have only a 17 character VIN. I thought Hyundai's are 19 characters as per the information on the first page of this thread.

So Wildon,

As stated by you the production date is December 28, however, you also mention that the model year is 2013.

I am sorry if this is an invalid question but, in layman's language is the vehicle 2012 or 2013. Just want to be sure and who better to ask than you.

Once again, Thank you so much in advance..!!

That is the exact reason i have given you the reference link too. In normal case its a 2012 vehicle as its produced on 28.12.2012.

Ask your SA to give the full chassis number, so that you can get the month also which is really matter while registering your vehicle at RTO. Also i suggest you to physically check the same on your vehicle before accepting the deal.

If the last character is M then it can only register as December 2012 Make, if its saying A then it can be registered as January 2013 vehicle.

Hello Wildon,

I have booked i20 crdi sportz variant. My sales Advisor said its 2012 model and its VIN number is MALBB51RLCM499106.

Can you please decode this for me.

Thanks in advance..!!

Hey Wildon,
Booked a 520d last week. The SE assured that it was November/December 2012 manufactured. The VIN is WBAFW75050C475391. Could you please decode it?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for the VIN details.

Spoke to the SE today based on the VIN and was informed that the car was actually manufactured in August 2012. He got confused because the factory billing date to the agent was December 2012. He also claims that they don't have any more recently manufactured vehicles.
Why would the agent accept an August manufactured car in December? Is there anything that I should be concerned about here? Do you think I should go ahead with the purchase?
