Guess it could be sarcasm or could also be for having understood and accepted that it is a very basic foray into damping. Guys would like you to remember that there are not many alternatives in the city I am from. To add damping is more or less unheard of even now.

I'd rather spend big bucks (if at all I get some ) in a city like Bangalore or elsewhere which has the facility in abundance.

Until then just thought I should keep my friends from the smaller towns and pockets as shallow as mine informed about the low budget stuff too, hence my previous post here.

Damping illusion

Thanks a ton Navin. I had been following this thread and the format put up is just the right way to weave through the posting traffic.

Well, i am on the lookout for damping options and have a query. Apparently the same distributor that deals in Illusion Speakers also deals with damping sheets.

Upon inquiry, i got a quote of Rs.12.250/- odd for damping up my Santro. While it's still early days and my preliminary inquiry is still on as also the usual struggle for the scarce Vitamin M, i would love it if someone could let us know the specs of the said damping and the review.

The quote was for doing up the 4 doors, the boot, and the flooring. I want to know if there are other options in this price range.

Let's see how it goes

Thanks for that Navin. I had known from the numerous posts that you have on the forum that you aren't one who indulges in petty things such as this and that you are a serious man with a good sense of humor. Thanks once again for clarifying the same on the forum.

@ B&T: I do understand that you meant good too and not otherwise. Thank you.

Right that is!

And he nearly paid me half the money that it cost me to get it working in the last two months of its existence.

Hey guys how much damping material will be needed to REALLY damp a swift
I plan to damp front doors, trunk and under carpet.
I am planning to get damping sheets from my brother who is travelling to Dubai.
Could somebody give me brand name - Dynamat Extreme etc and approx quantity needed ?

Cheers!

To R-E-A-L-L-Y damp the swift the sky is the limit my dear friend.

Whats your setup going to be like?

The roof also requires a lot of work but then we are talking 5 figure expenditure with just the front doors, trunk and under carpet.

Dynamat extreme is good and pricey. They come in kits - Door kit, trunk kit etc. So you can take a look here and decide.

I just did some basic damping and Im yet to do the boot, check my thread in this section.

For me I have put nearly 25 + 25 Sqft of damping in the front two doors only. And still some little rattle is there and a few in the boot door panels.
