Re: Review: RCD 330G. VW's 2016 Head-Unit for the Polo, Vento & Ameo

I also saw this, but sorry no ideas between the C and E variants.

I was almost zeroing down on this one from Aidu Auto but it seems to have a different part number and older hardware number. Confused!!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I somehow could not understand difference between 187C Vs 187E, any ideas here.

Yatch Science is selling this for $225 and I reckon I would need a ISO Quadlock connector ($15) for my 2013 Vento.

Does this look good, would I need to include/exclude anything.

Thanks,
Raul

UPDATE: Got the following message from the AliExpress Seller Yacht Science:

Since you already have the RCD330G,then no need the iso to quadlock.
As i tested, there is no difference between 187C and 187E.

Did you end up buying/installing it ? Was ISO Quadlock necessary.

Re: Review: RCD 330G. VW's 2016 Head-Unit for the Polo, Vento & Ameo

Hi guys,

Has anyone successfully upgraded their old models with RCD 340G? I have a 2016 Vento TSI and a 2017 Ameo DSG and want to upgraded to RCD 340G on both of them.

I'm currently in UK and planning to pick them up from here if anyone's got the upgrade working. Or is it more feasible to order from AliExpress?

Hi, apologies for the long delay in responding. I didn't go ahead and buy it that time, however thinking of doing it now as there is a 11.11 sale that is going to start on AliExpress and the Yacht Science 187E model will be $180 + shipping. I am pretty sure I don't need the ISO Quadlock adaptor as mine is a 2016 model VW Polo GT TSi.

Thanks for your reply. I was able to find the reason why wiring in my car was different. Pins in ISO connector for Comfortline and Highline are different.

So this post might be useful for anyone attempting to install RCD 330G in Comfortline variant of Polo/Vento.
Hi, I had a quick question for you. I got a 330g for my Skoda Rapid 2015 (Elegance) with automatic climate control. Can you guide me on where to locate the ACC can bus gateway and where should I plug in the two spare wires from the quadlock adapter to? Will he really grateful for your help.

Guys,
I'm looking to sell my 2016 Vento's stock RCD 330, do I need to give the buyer a security pin for this? If yes, how do I go about getting this security pin? The system is already un-installed from my car, because I upgraded to the RCD 340G plus.

The security pin is contained in the instructions booklet of the HU. It should be there on the first page or the last page (don't quite remember it). But I am quite sure it is in there as that's how I unlocked my car's HU when the battery was changed.

And yes, you have to compulsorily hand the pin over else the HU is useless. I have heard of people getting the PIN from VW but no clue how successful they have been and how it is done.
