Depends whats you budget. If you are going for Pioneer P880 RS then I think you should also look at Kenwood KDC-X9006U with 24Bit Wolfson DAC.

but the one im talking about is th rs-d7rII. its more expensive and is beautiful. but the best looking HUs according to my taste are

No.1 - HX-D2
No.2 - pio R7
No.3 - Mcintosh(modelno ?)
No.4 - BECKER USA
No.5 - Foursprung: In-dash car PC from Korea - Foursprung is the ultimate car gadgets blog and inspired by the four brands which formed Audi, the brand behind the claim "Vorsprung durch Technik".

The Kenwood K-CD01 is a basic SQ HU with no crossover, EQ etc. It is great VFM and costs around 25K in Singapore. No availability here though.

The P80 has similar build quality to the K-CD01 though it has active 3way capability, EQ, TA, crossvers etc.

The new Alpine 9887 HU is probably the most comparable to the P80. Similar features by and large.

The Kenwood 9006 is also on the similar lines as the P80 and though we haven't used it yet, we have high expectations from this unit.

The HX-D2 of course is in a different class. It can run in DIRECT mode which switches off the DSP and makes it a classic CD player. Or you can run it in NORMAL mode or NETWORK mode. And theres much more...

If one wants TA, XO and iPod control compatibility, then the Pioneer P80, Kenwood 9006 or the Alpine 9887 are the best options.

If i am to compare the Pio P80 and the Kenwood Kcd-01... The KCd-01 IMO is much cleaner, classier and much better SQ......although the P80 has more features like TA and EQ.....Kenwood on the other hand has spent all its money on SQ...no eq,no TA...it has twin burr browns 24 Bit DACS. Pricing i suspect is similar for both of them..in the 18-20's soemthign range...although the KCD-01 will be much more difficult to obtain since it was a limited edtion anniversary emotion series from Kenwood..... I have personally not even seen it anywhere abroad...

no xovers?? so one has to use the amp xos. if one wants to change the cut off freq one has to jump in the back or install the amp in the door pocket. lol.

gunbir, let me know when you are selling your d2 :P

you know, im tired of my pio 6850. the back light color is too blue. its blue all over. is it possible to mod the hu? can i replace it white led's? i have a 5650 mp3 which is dead. i think it has white led cause the display has 3-4 colors. can i replace the leds?

my fiesta's oe HU lens conked. so my plan is to install my pio 6850 in the fiesta and get a pio p80. is p80 available? the installer here quote 18k i guess.
