nitin. you dont need a 5 channel amp. amplifying rear fills is not required unless you have a driver to drive you around or you sit in the rear sit more often than the front seat. look for a good 2 channel amp for $100 which has enough power to drive a set of compos and a mono bloc for about $200. for comps there is a WIDE range and you should buy something that you have heard! what sub do you plan to run?

For the compo's, you may get ID/Rainbow within your budget - refer to WoofersEtc.com - The Online Car Audio Super Store, The largest selection at the lowest prices!

It's better to get a 2 ch amp for compo and a mono for Sub.

The Kenwood X4R looks good on paper. Dunno how it sounds so can't comment. it gives out 300W to the sub and 100W to each component. quite ideal unless you need like a bass heavy system

I don't think you will get ID/Rainbow within 15k.
how about this combination if you want two amplifiers from sonic-
Eclipse XA2000(139$)/Eclipse XA4000(199$) for two/four channel and
Kenwood KAC-8104D(129$)/Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X10D(169$) for sub.

@frank: I am not sure. The minimum impedance when bridged is 4 Ohms. So the output when in a three channel mode is 200Wx1+100Wx2. Are there any speakers apart from the Infinity Kappa series which can handle 2 Ohms?

The one real thing I like about this amp is the TA :-). Are there other amps with TA in built? This would make life so much easy when you can't (or like me, won't) change the integrated HU. It has a line out that you can then pass to a mono sub to power the subwoofer. And you can put delay on this line out as well.

So.. On paper, everything I want... It is a steal at @$220 as well.

Ta,
DK

I don't have anything yet. I have an i10 with the stock audio installed. The car is a couple of months old. I previously had a NHC with Infinity references.

Here are what I am planning to buy so far.

1. Kenwood KAC-X4R - $220
2. Infinity Kappa 60.9CS - $170
3. Dynamat Extreme 36 Sq. Ft.- $150
4. Thinking of a 10" Sub. Alpine Type X or JL Audio W6 are fighting it out inside my head.

Also, can anyone tell me if i10 can take 6.5" components perfectly. I think the stock speaker grille can accommodate 5.25" speakers only. I have pmed some of our members, but I have no answer yet.

the i10 can accomodate 6.5 inch midbasses, but i think there is some modification that has to be made. ask magma, he has 6.5 inch Electra midbasses in his front doors and 6 inch coaxials in his rear doors.

yes, 5 by 7 will fit in the front doors of the fiesta. search for infinity fiesta in the in car entertainment section

@nitin: 5 channel amps are for people who have no space for 2 amplifiers. i'd say, if there are no space constraints, look for a premium 2 channel amp for 100-150 dollars and use the rest on a mono that supplies atleast 300W @ 4 ohms. That way you will have a competent amp running a sub (may be a dual voice coil if you go for the ID or GZ DVC variants)

another option would be a value 4 channel and an expensive mono for the sub. if you like your bass heavy.

one more option is a dedicated 2 ch for the sub and another dedicated 2 ch for the components, hence allowing you good flexibility if you plan to upgrade in the near future.

but then i can only get 2 things from US, so if i buy i 2 chl amp and 1 mono, then i will not be able to source comps. what do u suggest in this case??

get the amps from usa, and buy the comps from india. comps might not cost as much more in india, than the amps together would cost you.

tell me something, i feel that mono amps for people who listen to hip hop or who like bass to be too much. i listen to trance all the time so i feel that spending money on good midbass is better than spening it on lose bass. hence i want a GOOD powerfull comps. please correct me if i am wrong.
