abhi i cant compare both, since i havent heard them back to back on a similar setup. but i can vouch for the fact that in nishants car, the pioneer was a 5/10 and the clarion was an 8/10. the clarion made the bass sound really tight, and the sound was cleaner and crisper than the pioneer. pioneers definitely have some amount of internal equalization built into them (a big exception of course is the premier 80).
the 9887 is double the cost of the 785, but im quite sure it doesnt justify that increase in cost really well. hence the 785 passes the test with flying colours, and i would love to see more of these in many cars!

invinsible has officially gotten the cheapest 785 on the forum. congratulations man. its quite a brilliant head unit. normally people would pay 3 times of what you paid to get close to that kind of spec sheet. cheers to all.

PS: after all, who was the venerable one that suggested that head unit to many of you'll?

Thx man. But I remember me and Nishant had started the thread on this at same day. When you had made this great suggestion to Nishant I wasn't aware of it. I learnt of this from the Clarion Website when I was comparing or rather finding an alternate one against the 9887 and Kenwood. That's what made me open up this thread. Anyways, it's good to see people benefiting with it and most importantly your wise suggestion and comments on the 785.

Cheers DOC!

What about the FM tuning. We here in India follow European tunning. Can anyone of you let us know if that is possible from this HU as everyone here has sourced it from the US.

It is listed on the Indian site, but currently no stock here. You can look for getting it from Singapore too its available there as 786.

SONIROHIT@ Only If I knew there would have been so many of them looking out for this one would have called for dozen The time I placed the thread not many were in favour of the Clarion or else would have called for more. Customs would not be a problem at all. Anyways I have someone coming down from US in a month and half time, incase you can wait till than and want one let me know. Will check too.
