Congrats! looks like Clarion has taken over desire of having the 9887 which currently cost 3 times the price of clarion. Way to go.

Amplifier/Components with DXZ 785 USB?

Hi

I am also getting a DXZ785USB from US for my Swift VDI which would be delivered by the end of this month. Since I am a newbie for ICE, i would like to know what amplifier and component speakers would be best for my car with this head unit? My budget for amp + components is around 20k....... Also, would it be cheaper if I order these also from US?
It would be very helpful if someone can enlighten me regarding the same.....

Cheers!

Any updates on this? Does the HU play frequencies like 104.00, 104.80 and so on?
How do the buttons feel? Good to use?
And is the user interface good and intuitive to operate?

Go for Ground Zero Radioactive 16X compos and power them by a jbl 1004.
Its 13k for compos and 10k for the amp.
A bit overshoot but very much value for money.
You will simply love it

the frequencies part, i think nishant will tell us. but as far as the quality is concerned, the DXZ785 feels very well built and all buttons register a satisfying press. the slidetrac is sturdy and the interface is quite simple to use. infact i find many features more handy than even my 9887.
all in all, its a must buy! RAZOR, just go ahead and order it. you wont regret it!

Aye aye sir... am on it Need to find a friend who can get it for me from the States.

Does the iPod connector cable come in the box? If not, how costly is that and is it available in India?
USB connector cable should be the usual run of the mill stuff right?

Thanks abhinav! I myself did some research and thought of getting Alpine MRP-F300 from US. Its a 4-channel amp to power 2-front comps as well as the subwoofer. It would cost me around $170. Going for 4 channel so that I can buy another mono amp later to power the sub when I decide to add comps at the back. Would you recommend JBL 1004E above Alpine MRP-F300?

@cupper: Alpine 300 is rated at 50WRMS/channel where as 1004 is rated at 100WRMS/channel. Its bridged output is also better than the alpine.

Are you sure JBL GTO 1004 is for 10k? Because on sonicelectronix its quoted as $250! Could you please let me know from where can I get this in India for 10k?

The Clarion seems to have climbed up in prices again. Amazon reports it at $170 (Amazon.com: Clarion DXZ785USB CD/MP3/WMA/ACC Receiver with CeNET Control, Time Alignment, 3-Way Crossover, Rear USB Port, Satellite Radio Ready: Electronics) while Onlinecarstereo sells at $150 (Clarion DXZ785USB \RB CD Players,MP3 CD Players)
