IN the US I have only used crutchfield.com. They are costlier than most of the other discount sites but they know their stuff.

I am back in this thread in need for help again

I have a Pioneer 4390 touch screen HU. I got a Bluetooth module BTB200 for it recently. It does not give out the complete options with the Android phone I have. But, I am pretty fine with it.

It gets paired pretty well. The connection too holds pretty good. The voice clarity is amazing and it does a2dp music streaming too.

I have the same problem which has been reported online by many others. Android / iPhone does not auto connect. I stop at a signal, and start the car again, the connection is lost and it won't connect back unless I toggle the Bluetooth off and on again. It gets a bit irritating connecting it back at every signal.

The only solution I have thought of is to power the Bluetooth module direct from battery and have a switch inside the car to turn it off when not needed. This way, I don't lose the connection when I restart the car. Wanted to know how good an idea is this and if there are any other alternatives. Thanks in advance

Amazon will be the cheapest. Try ebay or Amazon for a good price. Visit various websites and decide the item that you want to buy. Once you have decided, check online prices and store prices and order from whichever is cheap and best. Since you are going in one month, I would suggest you to close the deal by Thanksgiving as discounts will be huge.

My 2 pence: search craigslist website for some super deals. I know that it is a second hand / used product, but sometimes you get unopened, factory sealed box packed products as some one gets a gift and does not really need one. They sell it for 100-200$ off the sticker price.

Upgrade your software for better bluetooth connectivity (mentioned in 1st line) if at all needed.

You can power the BT module through an extra switch, but the problems are it would void your warranty and may lead to power drain if not installed properly. Secondly, if you forget to turn off the switch and dont use the car for 3 days it will drain substantial battery. It is also an additional load as direct powering will NOT turn off electricals when starting your car. Hope this helps

Hey Bharath. Thanks for the reply. I had got the Window roll up installed when i got the car, had to the cut the wires for that. I have changed my HU too. So, I guess my electrical warranty is already void. So, no problem with that.

I have a HTC desire with 2.2 running on it. I can update it to 2.3 but i read online that even 2.3 does not have a solution for the problem.

I am worried about the battery drain part. How much power will the bluetooth module draw ? I am guessing it should draw less power since i will have my HU turned off and there is no "search" going on.(Basically stand by mode). I use the car everyday. I can actual keep a reminder on the phone every night to turn it off. Just in case i forget.But, Just in case i keep it on overnight. Will it cause considerable battery drain ? Thanks again

Well there will be drain, but nothing to worry about. as you have mentioned that you use the car daily, at the max, the system would be running for 12 hrs i guess. I once left my car interior light "on" overnight. It did not cause any problem (Santro). I dont think the drain should worry you. If at all the battery gets drained, it is a Rs 200/- recharge for the battery.

The Amp powers the sub and the front components.
I was thinking of adding a 2 channel amp to the setup.
Is it logical/worth to do so ? I drive the car with no one in the back seat most times.

If i add a mono instead of a 2channel,would it help only with the sub output (spl) ?
I am pretty satisfied with the sub's current output.

If i should go for a 2channel which one ?

IMHO Kenwood 8016bt is the way to go. !

I have a Kenwood Kdc u349 Head unit and jbl cs-4 4inch co-axial speakers in my Spark as of now. How would you audio gurus rate this set up ? Also could one suggest good rear speakers and anything else that go with current setup.

You can add a set of coaxial speakers in the boot.Decent ones are available from jbl,pioneer,kenwood starting from Rs.2800.
Listen to some of them in your budget and select the one you like.
Make sure to buy with bill and warranty as a lot of fakes are available.
Stay away from Sony.

What is the difference between cs and gt series in Jbl ? I have cs , would it have been better with gt ?
