3---why u guys have not precribed 6"9" spk? Is that due to budget or it will lower sound quality?
4---i have heard that HU made in USA will have some FM tuing problems.I am not sure but i think their frequency increase by .1 and in India they wont be compatible.
5---If i install 4 spk and NO subw,do i need only one 4-channel amplifier or another one too.
6--If we have external amplifeir, shoud't we use spk with low sensivity as spk with high sensitivity needs less power to produce that volume.

punjab! I had that right! I cant believe myself!

rear speakers are usually installed on either speaker pods in the rear, rear deck or rear door. the auto manufacturer usually specs out where he thinks the speakers should go.

if you get a sub and front speakers the rear passengers will not get much. so it all depends if you will use your stereo with more than 2 people in the car. a sub will also add depth to the sound which the 2 rear speakers (without a sub) wont. you have to pick your poison unless you can afford both the rear+sub.

a 6x9 has about the Sd (cone surface) of a 8" cone. Now having a 4 or 5" speaker in the front a 8" in the back means that the 8" will be much louder and will drown out the front. the soundstage will move to the back. so unless you are looking at volume and not sound stage a large rear speaker is not a good idea. remember a 6x9 in the rear deck will have the whole trunk as a box. the trunk is a big box. and big boxes make for more sensitive speakers so you get a big speaker with a big box competing with a small speaker in a small box (door/dash).

yes many HUs in the US cant tune even freq. this has to do with FCC regulations. basically this ensures that radio stations are 0.4Mhz apart (below 100Mhz) and 0.8Mhz apart (above 100Mhz).
see links below for more.
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/spacing/index.html
and
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/amfmrule.html
However you can ask Crutchfield to set the radio for European use or sell you a set that can be set for European use (odd and even freq.).

Almost all HUs have a small amp inside. so you dont really NEED an amp. It is better to have one. 1 4 channel power amplifer will drive both front and rear speaker or both speakers and one sub (provided 2 channels of the amp can be bridged)

A speaker will high sensitivity will use power more effeciently. There are many trade offs in speaker (transducer) design and if i go into that this post will be many pages long. so in short get speakers with the highest sensitivity you can. Anything over 90db/1W/1m will be ok.

BTW please note that manufacturers dont all follow the same standards in measuring sensitivity. confused? dont be. in most cases a 40-50W rms amp will drive most speakers sold.

Hope this helps. If it gets to technical let me know.

SQ depends on the components used. you can very good SQ from 4 fullrange speakers (2 front and 2 rear) as well as 2 full range front speakers and a sub (or 2). what you should ask yourself is what is the soundstage you want. do you listen to music when you are more than 2 passengers in the car? etc... do you want your rear passengers to hear the music etc. often people realise that when there are more than 2 passengers the music is not in focus (if it is on at all).

Chennai checks??? aiyn? didnt get that, sowwie...

U bet, too hot is an understatement.... lucky U.... I don't really love mumbai much, spite of being born there, but I'm in love with pune.... Awesome place, loveable climate, very much to my liking... wanna settle there...
