And so KSRTC-Karnataka becomes the first RTC to induct the B9R.
The name :Airavat Club Class.
Now this is one RTC that is a pride for the Taxpayer.
It knows how to do what its meant for - provide service and it also knows how to sustain itself and generate revenue too.
Hats off to these guys

Highend stuff based on the Volvo B9R Platform.
Luxuria from Bluehills (Volvo B9R -DC Designed ).
I am sure that such initiatives will redefine Luxury Travel Segment and take it to new heights

Welcome to Super Luxury Buses
Spotted two of these buses in Chennai few days back. I did see the DC logo. I didn't know these were based on B9R. Since I was in a hurry, I didn't bother to stop and have a second look.

Re: Volvo Launches B9R Coach : 9400 6x2

Saw one of these Luxura-Luxury -Super Luxury buses on the ORR ,bangalore.I personally didnt like the look though. One could easily make out that this was another of DC's #$#!$! useless overkill's which if at all look good ,they look good only in pics

Was wondering as to how complicated would accident or body repairs be ? Would be interesting to know more on the specs of this bus wrt suspension and electrical mods

One thing with all these new buses, the operators are also trying to promote the latest features of their buses to attract clientele and be able to charge premium for their offering.

Overall the customer is also getting to know about technology.

Yes that's true and its going to be a Technology Driven battle in the Bus Segment in the days to follow. The Commercial Vehicle Industry in this decade is gearing up for a repeat of what happened in the Car Industry in the Past one.

But the real beneficiary in this specific case is the Driver. Gone are the days when Drivers would wrestle with the Gear Selectors ( as though they were gladiators handling a heavy weapon ) and they may be better off with one Pedal less to maneuver with.

Minimal manual intervention in the driving process may also result in smoother rides for the passenger too.

As for the Operators 2012 seems to be a dream come true. With cost of Air Tickets hitting the roof ( and the Indian Railways being choked for funds) the Bus business is going to be on a Joy Ride . The only probable spoil sport could be the much feared Fuel Price Deregulation (Including Diesel) being debated by the Government.

Re: Volvo Launches B9R Coach : 9400 6x2

Digging up a old thread but was wondering what part it could be?!

What is the honeycomb grill and the tank below?

Any connection to the turbocharger?

Since there is an air filter sitting right below, guess that is the air-intake.

Is that air intake sufficient for such an engine?!

IIRC, it is present on both the sides. This is the old variant. The current ones are of a different design.
