The button with a P on the driver bank is to switch off the Front Parking Sensors. Since yours is lit up, I presume it's switched off.

The other button is the VESS, or Virtual Engine Sound Simulator that I guess plays a sound for pedestrians to become aware that the XEV is near them.

Post taking the car from dealership i had given it straight to 3M for work including installing Sunfilm to the car. While taking the car back, we realised there was some distortion in the HUD reflection on the windshield which we were attributing to the newly applied film.

The owner was sure that there is a film on top of the HUD that we should remove which is causing that issue. Three layer goes all the way inside the edges so it took a while but somehow managed to remove it with a bit of force. No easy way around it.

Thank you! Any idea how I can get the parking sensors or camera to turn on automatically while navigating through tight spaces?

Also what is the botton above the P button on the driver bank for? The steering with wiper kind of icon

That's to turn your HUD on/ off.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Hello Guys

I wanted to know that can you guys sign in to the apple music app which is pre downloaded into the software ?

Whenever I try to sign in the loading screen goes on indefinitely, we wanted to experience songs in dolby atmos but can't due to this problem since the dolby atmos playlist of gaana is very small and mainly covers only Hindi Songs.

I thought that this issue might be related to the apple carplay also not being present but I would like to know your views.

Regards

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Yet to get delivery of my car! Dealer had promised March 24th but sitting on 1st April with no confirmation! CEO of the dealership says say there is some Music Amplifier update which takes anywhere between 8.5 hrs to 3 days. They have given me a demo XEV in the meanwhile for use with a TC registration. The limited time I drove on the demo car, experience was superb - driving dynamics, comfort levels front and back, NVH levels - feels like we were gliding on the road. Also, there were no almost no software niggles!

I have the same issue. Managing with Amazon Music now (works with Alexa commends too).

Does Apple CarPlay work? If not, can you ask your dealer's CEO for a timeline on that? Which dealership in Bombay is it?

Hi, But does amazon music have dolby atmos music ? I heard that the amazon unlimited subscription is not available here in India which gives access to dolby atmos songs.

Also got a call from the dealership saying that there will be an upcoming software update which will enable Apple Carplay, no need to bring car to the dealership as it will be OTA. This will solve the problem hopefully.

Unable to understand why there are so many software issues in cars delivered to customers, whereas most of these were not in Demo / Test vehicles. It seems that the updates and patches are creating more glitches. Looks like a big time software architecture or integration issue. While most of these are related to infotainment cluster and display, these were the very features which were loved during the test drive apart from excellent performance.

Another issue is related to paint quality and fitment which doesn't inspire confidence in the QC processes. With world class manufacturing facility, these should be controlled to Zero level.

Seems the top management is just happy to launch and create hype rather than focus on system improvements. They should have learned their lesson from XUV software issues but seems to have just let the learnings slip by in the greed for market share and profits. Hardly a trait exhibited by customer centric organisation with global ambition.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Thanks Mods for approving my account!

Received delivery of 9E on March 30th from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh:
I live in Lucknow but could not find a good deal here and hence made a booking in Bareilly where dealer agreed to deliver without charger and reasonably priced insurance. Overall delivery process was very smooth, vehicle is March manufactured as decoded from chassis number. SoH 98% at the time of delivery and ODO 59kms.

Battery experience: We drove back to Lucknow the same day. 5 of us, with lots of luggage(my relatives live there and they came with us) from there that filled up the entire trunk. Drove like an ICE car on default mode. Maintained 90-100Km/h on highways. AC on 22 degrees, fan speed 2. Upon reaching home in Lucknow, ODO read 379Kms with 30% battery left. That's a range of about 470Kms which I believe is good enough given the car was fully packed.

Ride experience: Hard to explain in words how good the ride quality is. Car is very smooth, cuts the outside noise very well and doesn't make you feel very tired after a long trip.

What's challenging:
  • No Apple car play yet.
  • So many sensors here and there, it will take some time to get used to it.
  • Mobile app not yet enabled for me and dealer said it will take a week more for that

I will keep posting more updated after driving it for few more weeks.

That is strange, then there is no point of having charging control in the charger App, if this is the case it is an issue as I was planning to use the charger App to control the charging at the rate I want so that I dont need to increase the Utility sanctioned load and pay extra monthly fixed charges, which has been increased significantly in Bangalore from April. I was planning to use the higher charging current only in case of an emergency and pay penatly for the higher MD for that charging session alone.
Did you check why it is so with Exicom, ideally the charger should limit the charging current even if requested by the car as per the App settings.

I used a long piece of cello tape, stuck half close to one edge and pulled on the other half, it came out with limited effort, would recommend the method. Dont ask me how inspiration struck me hahah but it works! There actually is a blue pull tab that you will find once you take the plastic off but the tab is under the dash plastic when applied

I had this question too! I noticed it at the time of delivery itself but was doubting myself, I should have checked with the dealer - honestly I am okay with MRF Markus too, it is a phenomenal tyre. The fact its on my tyre makes it the best in the market in my purely 'objective' opinion. What I dont like is that this wasn't disclosed by Mahindra (at least I didn't get any communication from them or the dealer).

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Did you all see this reel on Instagram? I had a feeling right from the beginning that the range is not going to be anywhere close to what they claim it to be. It seems like it's coming true. Unbelievable so many owners are seeing range in the 300s and yet people are optimistic that it's their driving style that needs to change when mahindra had said that whatever you do with the car, 500km is for sure guaranteed.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Hi Folks, Here is one more update from my end. After taking the delivery of the XEV 9E on 23rd March, I posted Apple Car play and MAPPLS not working in this forum. Mahindra Team approached one of the moderators on this forum ( as I a newbie here) asking for my contact detials. I was contacted by the service center to get the vehicle picked up and rectified. Finally thgey took the vehicle yesterday and informed that the fault is diagnosed toa broken wire/circuit in the roof electrical cable. If the part is available they wil replace it today and handover or I have to wait for the part to arrive.
Another bug that I observed yesterday was Range and Battery Info on DID panel were blank whereas it was showing in the CID panel. I had also shared the screen shots of the event with the service center and they said they will look into that also. It seems there will be all these SW issues for some more months to come till Mahindra's Tech team is able to give a bug free functional software.
