Absolutely Stunning Mayavi. I bow to you. This should be framed. the depth of the background is amazing. It is very easy to screw up this pic by giving a staid and bland bg. your bg with its texture and gradient is simply stunning and does the Bazillion dollars worth enhancement of the equally stunning foreground. I BOW TO YOU AGAIN

Hope you don't mind Bunny, I just exposed one of your image further using Picasa. The other image has too many distractions once exposed.

No issues.. Actually i wanted to post the real pic, and hence didnt work on it in photoshop. Loved the effect of darkness in clouds and hence posted the pic as it :)

now a lot of us may have questions on what did you mean by real
a pic with more details is more real, isn't it?
now you can only hope for less brickbats on this one :D

Thank you for your praise and comments.
I almost discarded it for the Jarring monotonous red. Samurai's Hibiscus is so sharp and has so many colors in it which I like. I only wish I am able to take pictures like that.
Vivek : real as in virgin , untouched by photoshop :D
This was hand held. So not sharp enough...

In reality a virgin photo would be a RAW image file right out of the camera. If you are shooting jpeg, it was already touched by the in-camera post-processing software. You know, the default logic that applies to all photos.

It is not that hard. If you have a dSLR and a good lens, you only need to practice, practice and practice.:)

But it still is a red hibiscus :D
But yes, I need to practice a lot and also buy some good lens. I am planning to buy some new glass with IS and sell the Sigma 70 - 300 F4 - 5.6 DG with Macro (anyone interested?).
