Few shots from a Yakshagana performance:
Shot using Canon EOS 1000D with 55-250mm zoom lens. Not the perfect choice of lens, but did not have any other option then to get close.

Not birding but in general a better camera. For my kind of needs a FF is good. But I dont like the 6D. At least I get much better material for the 7D-II. But if they price it higher than 6D itself, then I will re-think. Because these price points are way beyond the range/budgets for hobbyists. I am pretty convinced my 550D would serve me for quite some. Its not yet past its age. And with 70-200 F4 IS L and 100mm Macro 2.8 IS L by my side, I am more than satisfied with my current state. 100mm L esp. Superb glass and IS gives that extra edge to get me beautiful outdoor handheld portraits.

Price of 7Dii is expected in the range of $1800-2000.

I so much hope it stays there. But I have a faint hunch that Canon would be price it at about 2300/2400. Some where bang in the middle of 6D and 5D-III.

Just waiting for tomorrow when they uncover the pricing.

Nope it wont, this being a crop sensor wont be priced anywhere near those full frames. Might touch 2000 just for adding 1D X AF system. Almost everything else comes from 70D (minus swivel LCD)

I really hope it stays that way. The other thought is, Canon may also announce updates to FF or new FF bodies to counter the Nikon FF onslaught and they are priced at that range. In that case 7D-II stays below 2000.
