D500 has much better AF than the D610's, and a little better than D810's. I didn't get a chance to test on moving animals in bad light and in undergrowth, that will be key for me. I still think that I would rather wait for the D850. A DX would be better for the closeup portraits, but increasingly I am attracted towards animalscapes and environment shots (and right light and composition rather than absolute sharpness or bokeh), for which the FX field of view would be better.

In late 1960s Britannia had come out with almost exactly same picture of a tiger on the lid of their "assorted biscuit" tin (about 35-40 cm diameter). It used to adorn the walls of many houses in South India. I still remember fighting with my parents to get me a tin of those biscuit. Thanks for some nostalgia Best Regards & Drive Safe Ram Last edited by r_nairtvm : 3rd July 2016 at 12:26.

About the FB Corbett group, it sounds promising. The thing is that after one unfortunate experience on FB, we have kept our distance from it! The swallow mom regurgitating for her young is, as usual with your captures, completely riveting stuff! And I really wish that gorgeous lady would remember me too at times - we have spent enough times at Corbett, but never got within striking distance of her! I really think I have to get into deeper photographic waters than my hitherto pathetic efforts - and its basically because of seeing the offerings of folks like you and others on these pages!
