Nice pic! Sorry if this sounds silly, but what/how was the black background placed?

I think it's a black glass table. you can see the ghost of the mirror image.

another one from ootty, this one without the train.
Thanks Mansidea.

Speaking of trains, i shot this one a 2 years back when on a trip to Seattle. I shot it from within the car. I know it can be improved by removing the car dashboard and also some reflections - but i dont have photoshop right now. I shot it in Sepia mode as this was a trip that we 4 friends from school met after many many years.

Actually this is a clear glass table (tree trunk base) with a white wall at the back at a 45 degree angle. This pic is as shot - except for auto curves etc. I had a 5 pm sun coming in at a 4'Oclock angle (with the lens @ 6O'clock to the bunny - note the shadow under the chin of the bunny - this angle worked best because I had to ensure both outspread hands caught the light relative to the lens with the least amount of shadow under the chin). I learnt yesterday that evaluative metering took the whole frame into count - so this time used Spot Metering. I tried a lot of things - what worked best is .... (exif as under)

The unprocessed pic - converted into jpeg straight from the camera is below.
. Focus was on centre focus and the focus point was the bunny's chest - that gave me the torso, the hands, the eyes, and the black streaks on the ears in focus - which I found, amongst all the other combinations I shot, was the best visually.
