rippergeo Andhakaaran azhi has changed a lot since I last visited this place. I was able to dig up a pic that I shot in 2006.Unfortunately during my last years visit I couldn't make it there.

Was shot with a 3MP P&S.

Nope, mostly level, curves and highlight/shadow control.

It is called the Bruce Almighty Syndrome.

Of course, you should start cutting back. It will take time, but slowly you will start getting pleasing results.

Ok, so what do you think of this one?
I like it, but its important to know what the audience thinks. still too much?
I have an account on Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing, but the problem is, everyone is too polite and gentle there. they keep saying nice things, I get no criticism, so I dont improve much. which is why I flood this thread with pics. sorry guys.

Thanks torqueguru. You are absolutely right. After reading the comment, i took a good look at the picture and it all makes sense.

Ants were running around all over the plant. When i focussed it wasn't there. But then came up from inside, and seemed sharp in the view-finder after taking the pic. And being a beginner, i didnt think from this angle.

Liked the reflections on this one. However, i was caught in two minds with respect to cropping. (3/4th rule? Obeying it would mean either leaving out tree tops or reflections!)

How to go ahead with cropping in such cases?

its the 2/3rds rule. i dont see the need to stick to it dogmatically. now with digital photography, we're free to try as many different crops as we want and choose the ones that work best.

@Crazydriver-I think you're in my contact list too, but have'nt seen any new pics from you on flickr in a long time.

Riju, good one. Its just that its too much blue, if it was little lighter, maybe it would be much better.

Riju there is more noise in the pic, i would rather prefer a different colour for the sky. is this the same pic as in your flickr photostream..

too blue riju.
did you try playing with the selective colours slider on PS3? you could cut back on the blue. OTOH, if the noise was less, the pic might have been better even with that amount of blue.
