Samurai, did you get excited by the beauty of the picture or the tyre tracks? Imagining your Jeep there?

@TG,torqy and samurai- thanks.

Some field by a B road connecting malham tarn and leeds. took the pic last year and forgot all about it as I was busy with arranging my move back to india.have probably tagged the location on my tom tom which is now sitting with a friend in the UK. hope he's not erased it.

the red flowers are poppies. I did see much better scenes on the way, but this was the only place where I could safely stop and click.

looking at the height of the bushes in the middle of the tracks, I'd say the tracks were made by a tractor.

Well that's what I like about your comments, it's better to tell the truth atleast while someone is trying hard in photography. It helps although bitter pill to swallow, it helped me a lot during this journey[ No, I'm still not there, a long long way to go but I'm trying]

@ripper, loved the shots, specially the first one. Just wish I could see more of the road. Kind of like the road is leading your eyes towards the horizon or to the tree on the left. But still a night shot.
@TG, would've been a killer shot if you were closer to the fisherman. And yeah better have the horizon straight, otherwise it kills the composition.

Ok, here some of my random photos, bouquets and brickbats, both are welcome, [pardon the sharpness aspect as these are downloaded from my page and in the process they've lost some quality]

This was taken on the foothills of the G.Betta during the last lights of the day,

Same location but in a different direction faraway towards the setting Sun,btw it's cropped at 60% if I can remember correctly.

Near Devbagh island while coming back from the Devbagh resort, I've noticed the glow from a distance and was waiting to shoot. Things learnt,it's damn difficult to shoot from a moving boat.

A lighthouse from the Karwar beach, I really wish for a better picture but I kept it for the colors and the composition.

@kaushik- loved the 1st two pics, especially the 1st one. gives a great rural india feel.
3rd one is composed well, but the lighting is not helping you much.
EDIT- did you try a closer crop with the arch of the bridge span acting as a frame to the glowing cloud? just a thought.
EDIT again- tried it. doesnt look good, yours is better.
4th one
I can see what you were trying for. I've tried similar shots myself. but the end result is the same as mine, the lack of a prominent subject kills interest.
also, clarity is lacking like you said.
the lengthwise crop would have looked good on a wall, but on a comp screen, the viewer has to scroll up and down to get the whole pic. destroys the effect you were trying for.
A smaller thumbnail might have given you the results we all try for.

@TG- wish I had an eye for macros and perspectives like you. I can look at a landscape and take a decent shot, but so can everybody else. it takes talent to see beauty in small, ordinary things

I recently discovered I had many raw files waiting to be PPed. These two were shot exactly a year back.

Monsoon in my town.

Kaushik, I liked the composition and the color on the first three.

No wonder, in our villages they rarely maintain such heavenly paths.

TG, a very interesting shot. Although I suggest cropping heavily and reframe the shot smark on the dew drop, that is if you have enough pixels to work with.

@jomz- the colour balance in the pic looks off. or was it just a very red evening?

@suren- thanks for trying. it is so flattering to have that pic worked on by so many people.

the link below is my fav PP work, ever done on one of my pics! by hellcat.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...tml#post870791

after seeing that, every other attempt looks second best. maybe its because he got the result that I wanted so badly but couldnt achieve.

@kaushik- I love that crop! maybe its just me. wait for the others to comment on the pic.see what they say.

@samurai- that 1st pic of the river during monsoon is brilliant. lighting is very nice too. i've been wanting to do a few shots like that.
the 2nd pic- is that the MIT campus? or KMC?
