@rjstyles- loved the verna Pic.
@kaushik- what lens? will i be able to get close enough to birds with a 70-300 to take shots like you've put up? have not done a dedicated wildlife photography trip yet, but will do one before this year end atleast.

@samurai- Nice PP on the crocodile pic(see, you're not so bad!)

PS- we dont have alligators in india do we?

@Ripper Go - If its the 70-300 IS you would definetly get better reach & quality of shots, I dont know about alligators but we do have a lot of Marsh crocodiles.

@ ripper, hmmmm I guess I've not put up any bird pics yet, but for birds better to have atleast a 100-400 IS. From my experience 70-300 will be a kind of frustrating lens for birding ;-). But yeah if you go to Kukkre Bellur then you'ld be able to get close enough shots of our flying friends.
And please pardon me about Alligator thing, I'm always confused between these two things, crocodiles and alligators.
@Redrage, try to get a copy of Photoshop, that'll help you a lot. Or GNU also has one similar software,I forgot the name now.
@ Samurai, I've tried to PP one of your photograph, will post it soon. Hope you don't mind.

The GNU version is Gimp. Regarding photoshop, I have been wondering whether it is worth to upgrade to CS3 or not, I am still stuck with CS2.

And I'm still stuck with 7.0 and yet to use the so called Creative Suite. Probably will directly move to CS3 once I get my new PC.

He he tried with the file that you've posted only. So nothing adventurous that I've tried as it's difficult to work with a low-res jpeg without actually spoiling it. Will post the result once I reach home today.

I actually have a need to upgrade since E3 raw is not recognised in CS2 which uses ACR 3.7 or below. But the moment I pay that $200 and upgrade, they will announce CS4. So I am managing by externally using ACR 4.3 with DNG converter.

Sunday evening,was terribly bored and I didnt have any money.So i took the cam,walked up the airport rd flyover and shot this pic in raw.Tried some processing on silkypix and heres what i am satisfied with.
Eight second exposure,f\8,Iso 100,NO Tripod!(balanced it on the wall which i regret).Cam is a Panasonic DMC FZ18

Capturing the essence of Bangalore,eight seconds at a time!

That is very odd, almost surreal. The lighting on the bug is very different from the light on the surroundings. A very sharp pic though.
That's a real nice Job Samurai. It looks splendid!!

Well, it is slightly brightened. Looks good, but not a great improvement though.
