Any tips to shoot neat potraits? I think I have been selecting a very wide aperture. Some features of the subjects becomes blurred along with desired background. See below:
There is nothing really wrong with that pic. The focus is on the eye, which is on spot. I guess you have used flash and shutter speed is long one. Because of which there is a very minute movement of face.
Take him to some park and try to shoot him with that wide aperture on long end, and yeah not under harsh sun.
Thanks Samurai, I have a point and shoot camera, all these are shot using a 2004 vintage Canon powershot A95.
So the attempt is try to get the composition right and leave other things to auto mode. Have been dreaming of getting a SLR, looks like will have to wait for some more time.
Try playing around with the available settings before even thinking SLR!! Get out of the auto mode!! Push your camera and your skills to the maximum extend with your current cam, take pics that can really make you wonder:"Wow! looks like an SLR shot" .
And trust me its possible! And then when you have learnt enough thats when you can actually use an SLR to its full potential! Just my honest opinion...Happy clicking
