My wife has been asking for ever to shoot her image in this style, but I am falling short. The portrait lens I have is Zuiko 50mm F/2, an incredible lens. It is also a 1:2 macro lens and is extremely sharp. So far I have been unable to get the softness I want. I guess PP is the only way to get it. What kind of metering did you use for this shot?
I didn't understand this one. If exposure is +0.25, how come exposure bias is 0EV? Is this in full manual? |
Thank you so very much for appreciating the photograph. Well yes that is in full manual. You can see all the details of EXIF on this link.
Flickr: More detail about Pael The issue about the exposure being +0.25 is that since I do the PP in Adobe Lightroom it embeds all the editing in the lighting exposure etc etc into the EXIF data itself. That's the reason you are seeing such a value. I hope the doubt is clear now.

That particular picture is really beautiful. I visit corbett about 3-4 times a year but I've never seen such a shot of the grasslands. Specially with the new antlers of the chital. Beautiful shot. When did you visit?? I guess sometime in March/April. I'll gear up for next season for this phase of the year then.

Anirban.

The deer pics are special, love the colors there!

I was wondering how you are not posting pictures these days, i thought you got more into DSLR chit chats than photography! Awaiting the return of the Samurai!

Samurai, google and find out a technique called Orton, this will give you the dreamy look and if not overdone it looks really good, specially with portraits. This was a technique used during slide days where two slides were sandwiched to get this kind of feel. Now with PS it's quite easy.
EDIT : Found the site which explains :
Creative Nature Photography - Orton Imagery
After seeing the pics you guys have posted i'm thinking twice about posting mine ..

Hi Everyone,
Thanks to my friend mobike008 (Avinash) for directing me to this thread, though a member of TBHP since about a year I was totally unaware of its exsistance.
My kit bag carries a Canon 20D, 24-135mm, 100-400mm IS USM L series zoom and a battery pack.
Wildlife photography is my passion. Done few landscapes too.
Done little and looking foward to learn a do a lot more.
My pictures to follow.
