Ok pictures were taken at night, 2340 hrs from the EXIF info.
I have included the details in post#5347, do you need more info ?

It's the lens feature.
More number of shutter blades mean more round bokeh. Lesser numbers tend towards a hexagonal bokeh.

Over a sixteen year period, 1955-1971, Indian Airlines Corp.(IAC) had a fleet of sixteen Vickers Viscount quad-turboprop airliners.
These were
- a 1955 V.723 and
- a 1955 V.730 acquired from the Indian Air Force,
- five 1957 V.768Ds,
- four 1957 V.779Ds acquired from Fred Olsen Flyselskap of Norway and
- five 1958 V.768Ds.
There were two livery paint schemes.
The early livery had a navy blue stripe running along the windows with the Indian flag on the white tail fin. The later livery had the top half of the fuselage (including the line of windows) in white , a black nose and a full orange tailfin with the IA logo in white on it.
Does anybody have scans of old photos (monochrome/color)? Would you please share?

The Viscount in the picture: VT-DIX, is a 1958 V.768D model (from the second batch of V.768Ds). The pic is in the earlier livery, when Indian Airlines was called Indian Airlines Corporation (IAC) and had the Wings logo seen on the sides of the nose.
She was lost while attempting to land in strong wind on a wet runway at Jaipur-Sanganer Airport on 9th August 1971. The pilot made multiple unsuccessful attempts and on his 3rd attempt, the Viscount touched down 1,800 feet down the wet runway, overran the paved runway and was damaged beyond repair. All 23 passengers and 4 crew survived.

I had been to Bodega bay, about an hour away from San Jose. The place was a wildlife reserve too. I was lucky to get this shy deer so close to me, they are so elusive that, once they see you closer than usual they just gallop away!

Yes the beercan! Initially I had the 18-70 kit lens only, and after a while I started contemplating on buying a zoom lens, and to my dismay, all new Sony lenses were damn expensive. I got to know about the beercan from Sony A200 flickr group. Then I strated bidding on eBay US, and finally, won a bid for this great lens at 162 USD. It was really a good deal, I got a HOYA circular polarizer and a HOYA UV filter alongwith this lens! Became even more happier when I happened to read a comparison by an expert between the beercan and the new Sony 70-210mm F2.8 lens which costs around 1700 USD(?). The only area where the beercan could not catch up with the new Sony 70-210 was CA - it had slightly more CA than the Sony lens, but thats okay.
