A Juvenile Crested Serpent Eagle who posed like a model for a jeep full of photographers at Kabini.

Wonderful click Amol! Started raining in Kabini yet! I guess this is from the trip you made a couple or more weeks back and not recent right!

If you had more zoom (was this the max?) a shot of just its face would've been awesome.

Thanks Ketan. This one was actually from a trip in February. We had a lot of rain all two days during the last trip. I actually had a missed opportunity to capture a male tiger on camera who was sitting just 20ft away on the manathvady highway even before we entered the forest tracks. It was raining since we started from the resort and I had the rain cover still on. It was hardly half a minute before he decided to settle down in the thicket just by the road. All I got was record shots of the stripes through the bushes :Frustrati

This is actually a 100% view, no cropping done. So technically I can blow this up to a 2ftx3ft or bigger print if I'd like to without needing any enhancements. Getting just the face is definitely possible, but I liked this composition better. Will try and see if I can actually make a close-up work here.

My only visit to Kabini was around same time I guess (or march/april I guess).
We opted for safari both the times and we had similar luck where we missed a male by a few seconds while it just entered the bushes. All the jeeps were rushing carzily towards that direction and that might have caused him to hurry a bit, he was crossing the road around the old elephant camp area.

Wonderful image in the rain, I guess thats the breeding season for CSE and we can find them in big number during this time!

Many of the wildlife/bird photographers here in our land don't get much creative (just my opinion) even the reputed wild life photographers sometimes are like this. We keep shooting the whole bird sitting on a branch always..

Bird heads are definitely a different style of bird photography. It's very difficult to get a good frame unless you have some emotions on the birds face that make the picture interesting. If you notice, all the pictures you posted were the bald eagle, that's also because it's one of the most beautiful raptors to do close up shots and there's more color on it than the usual wood colored raptors found here.

A M A Z I N G shot Amol! One of the best in this thread. Can you share the EXIF data?

I agree to an extent. Did not find a lot of exciting photography from wildlife pros in India (mostly documentary photos). But then, how many wildlife pros are there in India? I've heard of only a handful. Moreover, you need a lot of patience and time to get such interesting shots. Also, the really emotive birds are tiny and difficult to capture.

Here is one flight shot of the Oriental Honey-buzzard I managed to take some time back in Ranthambore. I had to spend around an hour in the company of 2 buzzards to get this one shot -- that too when I realized that my main telephoto lens had a mechanical failure. Had to make do with a plastic piston, if you know what I mean.
