Hey Khaadu,

You see, even if you buy the Official PS2 from Sony, you would only be able to play the original games, which can cost anywhere fromRs.2000 upwards! Pirated games cost a 100 bucks. You need a mod chip in your PS2 to play pirated games, so if you do that with ur official PS2, the warranty is violated! Better to buy a mod chip installed grey market piece for much less money.

Well generally if you buy it from the GREY Market it should already be modded. But still check it out, coz there are loads of modchips available out there, that solve different purposes. The Magic 5, is the best. It plays all region DVDs, NTSC/PAL Game DVDs. Play Station 1 Games etc..
Should be around 11,000/12,000 depending on what chip they're using..

Also check out baazee to get an idea of the prices. But baazee is always a couple of grand more, so watch out.

Hi guys, Let me know if its possible for me to get a PS2 game from the UK and play it on the PS2 bought from sony India ?? Our system is PAL, i wonder wat is used in UK games by Sony ... Also is there any way 2 play a NTSC original game on my PS2 without a mod chip as I havnt gotten that yet. Pls help asap as my friend coming from there in the next couple of hours and i need 2 tell him to get a game for me ...

Hey.. any game from the UK will work on the systems from Sony india.. as the UK PS2s are also PAL... so there is no problem at all. The best thing would be to get your system modded.. it only costs 1500 bucks or so ... and u can play disks from anywhere. ... Its almost the same cost as a single game from the UK.. probably much cheaper.. so my suggestion is to get ur PS2 modded here .. and all games are available here.. works out really cheap..
Of course if its like a gift from ur friend then theres no problem

recently a friend got me an original game form singapore as a gift but sadly its the NTSC version and that doesnt play even on a modded PS2 so if anyone out there who has a system that supports NTSC pm me and i cud gift it to u ... NFS underground is the game .

Doesn't the PS2 come with both Pal and NTSC modes? Even the cheapest VCD players have that option.

U have to be sure of just that "PAL only" thing khaadu.

NTSC surely does work in India.I have a PS2 i brought from Japan and it does work.
But therez only one hiccup in the whole thing.If u buy the PS2 cds in India(pirated ones),they will not work unless ur system is PAL only.Or better u can get the lens and the chip converted to PAL only for 4000rs in India itself.

a friend has a PS2 which i think was bought in Dubai = it's modded - which is the thing you should get done - Palika Bazar is a great place to get it done - you can also pick up any PS2 game for Rs 100 and PC Games for Rs 50 x No. of Cd's (CMR4.0 rocks !!!)

try out GT 3 - A Specg , Namco R Racing evolution for the PS2 for other car games - then you have the usual : Tekken, FIFA, Cricket, Contra , FF XI , loads of em - just make a trip to Palika.

No need to change the lens as far as i know... just getting a modchip will do...coz the diff between the dvds is nothing related to the lens and all... its best to get a modchip installed... and all pal, ntsc games will work... doesnt matter if ur system is a pal only thing.

ive got the gt4 prologue full version its good but come on a games a game right?? so why not have more punch in it like nfsu2? its good though but then again try playing splinter cell pt if ure the kinda guy who wants to go as real as it gets
