Using Windows XP as OS. I did not want Vista. Had used Vista earlier and had lot of issues.

takecare and drive safely
Why i asked about the OS?

its a waste to put 4gb ram. XP can address little over 3gb ram only.

Thats a good forum to get some sweet deals too - Recently it witnessed a RAM price war between 2 vendors where the price of Corsair XMS 2*2GB 800MHz fell from 3850 to around 2800 within a month's time!

Btw - it's still available for 2900 if someone's interested.

ERR, IMHO, NO. This is not a good price.
We assemebeled a PC for 27.5K
Configuration is:
Processor : Intel C2D E 7300
Mobo : MSI P45 Neo.
RAM : 2 X 2GB Dynet 667 Mhz, ddr2.
DVD Writer : LG
HDD : 500 GB seagate Barracude 7200.10.
Cabinet : Iball Gamer cabinet with 400W SMPS.
Graphics card : Sparkle 9600GT.

The good point of your friend's pc is the cabinet with 4 fans and controls.
ATX is form factor standard.

So IMHO, the price is quite steep.

12k would be a reasonable price, 15k MAX. I dont think he'd get more than 10k as buyback for it

resale value, just like cars , tends to be higher in smaller towns.
and older computers are a lot more problematic. I'd still suggest you invest 12~15k in a brand new CPU

RAM : I dont know from where you got it, but you got it cheap. The price here is 1000Rs. for 1 GB 800MHz module.

Which one, 7200.10 or 7200.11 ? Again price is much lower in that what I get here.

Nice graphics card at bargain price.

The price is VFM.

What is the size of fans ? 80mm,92mm, 120mm ?

I would like to say that the entire set up in my city will cost me 10K more than what you have spent.
